if it was just me, I would. but policy is to lock, which leaves proof of people's transgressions which gives us proof if the need arrises to ban someone.

If you ban someone will you delete all their threads??
lol

Maybe make a hidden "deleted threads" forum where you can just move all the locked threads?
IDK, it's kinda annoying to see some threads left there when they should be deleted. But some others need only the lock because the thread was getting out of hand.
My 2 euros.....

Well here's my 2 pence ;)
People read and forget the rules. So locked threads serve as an example of what is and isn't okay to post, so that other won't just repost the same stuff. You're right, they do clutter a little bit. But it's a worthwhile price to pay IMHO.

i agree with kev. I was thinking about a strategy to chat threads: maybe they should be allowed but deleted afterwards? i don't know, probably just a stupid idea but i get annoyed when what i think is an interesting post is actually 10 pages of conversation!

Those are somg pretty good ideas!!

Yeah i agree, it's most annoying. The trouble is that there will always be those kind of people who don't take the time to look around before posting (lame) stuff. But some (good) people do look around and it can let them get a better feel for how the place works.
