Title: World Recommendations
Post by: rosieposy87 on May 29, 2003, 02:45:59 am
Well recently Nerea has introduced me to so much spanish music i had no idea existed, and it made me think- there are hundreds of countries in the world yet we rarely hear music from anywhere but America and our own country.

I'm not saying thats a bad thing, i'm saying it would be great to hear some artists from all over the world that are big in your country: whether they sing in english or not.

Post them here- even if they're just one off songs that you love. My first recommendation is: Misteeq- Scandalous

Rosie :)

hehe  :D  I'm not a huge fan os Spanish music but there's some good stuff out there...

Zee has already mentioned El Canto Del Loco and she'll probably kill me if I don't    Funny cos she's a bigger fan than me lol

Some other good stuff.... Melon Diesel (theyre from Gibraltar so they sing in English too, but hey isn't Gibraltar Spanish after all? lol), Tontxu, Juanes, David Broza, LA OREJA DE VAN GOGH... can't think of many more right now but I'll post a list of my fave songs of each of them for you all  :)

Ok ok, because my dear Rosie asked me, let me contribute to this thread.
As you guys know, I don't like french music, I just think it sucks.
But there's one song from France I love.
It's actually a cover of the 80's song "Maniac" (originally sung by Michael Sambello and from the movie "Flashdance").
This french band called L5 did the new version. (they are the winners of the 1st season of Popstars).
You can download it, it sounds awesome!
It's the most French I can do! haha  :P

I love their 1st album. Their 2nd one didnt do to well but looks like Killing Heidi's 3rd cd will be brilliant.
That song i mentioned is on the Spiderman 2 soundtrack over here so fingers crossed it might be their launching pad overseas.
