-
Norah Jones is VERY good! It's not exactly my cup of tea, but she has a very unique sound. Good stuff.
-
I wish her many Grammys
-
I respect her but her music puts me to sleep. Sorry. Hehe.
-
she's cool...she has a great voice, I think she should write more of her own material though.
-
MAD  for NORAH!
-
I love Norah! I love her Bluesy riffs and crap! She is really talented!
-
Norah is increadible! she's completely different ...and her birthday was on 30 march.. happy birthday Norah
-
norah rocks...the only bluesy, jazz pop girl out there...totally unique

DID I MENTION I AM SEEING NORAH TONIGHT?
thanks let!
I wish i could go to the charlotte show (she will be in charlotte monday) but of course my parents probably wouldn't go, and the freakin tickets are sold out anyway....
-
Awe sorry Joe. My show is sold out too it sold out in the first like 10 mins. I don't think my seats are that great but it's a sit down concert really so it will be cool still.
Alecs your show is coming :)
On the TV Guide Channel today they have a thing on NJ and they were talking about her tour and how she is in Jacksonville, FL today, yay!! Ok, I am a little excited sorry
-
I love you Let!!! My seats are in the balcony so it's all good. I had like 2nd row seats on the side of the same venue for Tori Amos and the balcony was better as far as the view goes.
-
yeah this is a get dressed up, go to dinner, enjoy the show. Another cool part is after the opener, Gillian Welch, getting some wine and chatting before NJ. My seats are in the ochestra on the side but kinda far back but the Florida Theater isn't that big so it should be cool.
I can see how the balcony could be better for Tori seats.
-
The concert was really cool, I played the stalker role and got my cd signed which is really cool she was like what's the name I said Let she said that's a cool name and wow!! 8 time Grammy winner signed my cd. We took a pic and she said her boyfriend has the same camera and I said Lee? and she said yeah. haha...
-
wicked...
Some people have all the luck and get to meet all the famous wicked people!
;)
I'm glad you had fun, Lovely Let!!
(next time, I'm going with you!! lol)
-
you can come with me anytime!!
I had a great night although some people *coughnikkee* think I am drunk but yeah it was a great night I even got to talk to one of my Soluna girls/friends on the way home.
-

If I was a celeb, you would scare me Let, lol...be like "you have been doing your research, haven't ya?"
and I don't like correcting the Queen, but I messed it up too...Come Away With Me won 8 awards, she won 5.
(well I have to make myself feel better somehow)...
-
You are correct. I realize I worded that wrong. I meant my cd, which won 8 awards was signed by the 5 time winner herself, yes!! Oh and I guess I should admit I was drunk when I wrote that, haha...don't tell nikkee I admitted it.
And I go back to this old saying...If I am gonna pretend to know what I am talking about I should know what I am talking about ;)
I learned the boyfriend thing from a true fan. I had no idea.
-
LMAO!
Let you rock!
-
you were CRUNK! hahahah OUT OF CONTROL, homie!
-
you were CRUNK! hahahah OUT OF CONTROL, homie!
ROFL
-
I'm friggin jealous! I wish I could see Norah now but I gotta wait until July. It's cool you got to meet her Let and see how totally awesome she is as a person. Now you probably see why I put her even with Vanessa as my favorite musician. I didn't think to bring my CD to get it signed last year but maybe I'll bring my DVD this year.
-
Steve if I was you, I would rather get my cd signed than the DVD, I mean come on that album won 8 awards. You should try for both
Question...did you ever notice that she signs her name different each time? She signed different things and two are kinda the same but the other is not, they are all different. Even in one of my pictures one chick is holding a program and it is even signed different. Weird  The only other person I saw do that is Ana Maria of Eden's Crush.
But NJ was cool, very laid back. I will have to show you my pictures.
-
actually I'm just planning to blow up my picture with her from last time to an 8x10 and having her sign that. Then I could have my signed 8x10s with Vanessa and Norah both framed together. It'd be my signed Grammy nominated artists pictures until Vanessa wins hers then it'd be my Grammy winning artists pictures. LOL
-
Cool Steve, my sister got the DVD, i havnt watched it yet.
I saw it on television though and its pretty good.
Hope u have a cool time.
-
I would have liked to have gone to the NJ show in August...but I'll be in Boston...I think that will be better. :D
-
If anybody wants 2 tickets to the NJ show in section 302 of the PNC bank center for $50 each tell me and I might be able to get you in contact with somebody selling them but you probably have to tell me fast.
-
Steve, when is the date and are those seats good or no? It doesn't really matter but where are they?
-
It's for June 27 here's the seating chart: http://www.ticketmaster.com/seatingchart/41/3419
NOTICE: Now the person decided to sell them before the show there so I guess you guys can ignore my last 2 posts now. I'm sure that isn't hard considering all the practice everybody has in ignoring my posts. LMFAO
-
Here's the link to audio of the Oprah interview with Norah for her magazine:

-
I went to see Norah in Portsmouth, VA on June 19. To be honest, I thought the show was really good. Her music just isn't the right music for me to hear in a concert setting. I like to just ROCK when I go to a concert. While her music is really awesome, everyone was just sitting there, and basically just clapped after every song.
I did get to meet her afterwards and she is ADORABLE.
One disappointment though: She played 13 of the 14 songs from her album "Come Away With Me". The one song she didn't do, my 2nd fave, "Shoot the Moon" ("One Flight Down" is #1). It's cool, but I thought she could've definitely had another song to decide to leave out.
-
Norah is cool, but her dad Ravi Shankar is much cooler
(http://www.thephotoagency.co.uk/RS1/IMAG0000.JPG)
-
She is talented...that is for sure.
-
I get to go see her next wednesday in dallas, tx!!!!
totally excited!!!!
-
I go in less than 2 weeks. YAY
-
I saw her when she came to Cleveland a couple weeks ago...totally rad concert! She played at least 20 songs.
-
have you checked out "The Peter Malick Group feat. Norah Jones" CD?? i bought it and it is fantastic...you must get it if you havent..
-
I get to go see her next wednesday in dallas, tx!!!!
totally excited!!!!
Oo Alecs, I'm happpy for you ;D
-
I refuse to buy the Malick CD because it was released just to profit from Norah's fame.
btw Norah will be on the Tonight Show with Leno on July 29 the night before her LA concert which I'm going to. I have a feeling she's gonna play "Ride On" or something new she's playing at her concert because everybody knows the songs from her album by now.
-
I'm off to Dallas to see her show tonight so I will let ya know how it goes :-)
-

Waits for the details, even though I somewhat hate norah
-
I wasn't totally shocked but I was surprised how cool the show ended up being. I kinda expected a slow, quiet, short show. I was wrong. She sang her heart out and her band was amazing. The opener was Richard Julian. I met him and bought one of his cd's. He sang a couple of tunes with Norah. He is really good and super nice. They have been friends for a long time.
She was so sweet and cute the way she was acting. She said she was really nervous having to come home to Dallas and play in front of who knows how many of her old piano and music teachers from school and college. The crowd was actually lively considering it was a sold out show and there were old, rich people, families with small children, college peeps and then there were also the loud people having a good ole' time as usual.(peeps like me) anyway it still went well with the mix. It was odd having seen Widespread Panic there this last Sunday and then Norah on Wednesday just because the show was so different as well as the crowd.
Anyway you guys who have doubts about her should check her out sometime. It was a class A show. Tons of talent flowing from the stage. It's great when people of all ages, races, and places can agree on someone being a badass.
peace
-
I just loved the concert. She was brilliant as always and she does a haunting rendition of "Sleepless Nights." It gave me the chills much like "Twilight" does when Vanessa plays it live. Of course I had to get one of her Summer Tour button shirts. LOL
-
I was just looking at TV guide looking for the Vanessa Pantene concert

well I got the cd today from the library and it's incredibly boring. I don't like her music at all now. I have listened to her music and I can honestly say now that her music is boring. Not my type of music at all.
-
oh but number 9 is the best song in the world!
i love "i've got to see you again" lol.
-
thats my favorite too! yay! "lines on your face...dont bother me" woohoo..I love norah. and I soooo didn't jump on the Norah bandwagon. I bought her CD a week after it came out, whereas it didn't become heard of till many months later.
-
i don't really like her that much.

"down in my chair, as you dance over me, I can't help myself I've got to see you agaaaaaaaaaaaaaain."
that song makes me so happy..
I think it is about a striper though lol.
-
haha yeah..it seems like it could be.
-
ok so I lied...
I really like one flight down. it's such an awesome song!!
so now I like 4 songs on the cd. Woop!! soon I'll like them all I hope.
-
I dont even know their names...its one of the rare cds that I actually just listen to the whole thing in the background and dont do any track-flipping. The CDs coherent and seamless enough that thats possible. Which is hard to find now I think. Thats one of the reasons I like it so much.

same here...I don't usually let the whole cd play out...but she is a different story.
-
Her album is awesome but some of her rare songs are even better.
-
She's gonna be on an Aretha Franklin 9Th ANNUAL WALK OF FAME show on October 28 on BET.
-

It's not a rock cd. I love the cd but I have to be in the mood. I've played it really late at night at times. I've played when it was a rainy day. I've played when I was drunker than Cooter Brown. Trust me, it grows on you. Boring? No... Slow and easy? Yes.
Satisfied here... she is super sweet in person.
(don't give up on her yet...)
-
Speaking of Nora, I just saw her play a few weeks ago at the Living Room with the Little Willies, there were only like 70 people there. It was an amazing experience
-
wow, I bet it was. That's cool.
I can't decide if I liked her little duet with Dolly Parton. I don't like Dolly's voice so it kinda killed it for me.
-
Her new album will be titled Feels Like Home and is set for release in February. Her worldwide tour will begin in April.
She will appear on an episode of Sesame Street next season which starts in April too.
-

I actually enjoyed that duet. 'Twas pretty.
Like Alecs, I have to be in the mood for her. I lost respect for her when she stole VC's Grammy's.
-
here's a link to her newest single "Sunrise" and a preview of the rest of her album:http://www.bluenote.com/detail.asp?SelectionID=10284

thanks for the link.

"SUNRISE" VIDEO WORLD PREMIER
Tune in to VH1 on Sunday, February 1st to see the World Premiere of Norah's latest video for the song "Sunrise" from the album Feels Like Home. The video will air exclusively on VH1 at 8:00 pm eastern time.
-
I just got my japanese import of Feels Like Home and I can't stop listening to it. It's awesome!
-
I lost respect for her when she stole VC's Grammy's.
because, you know that is how you get a Grammy.
-
can't wait to hear the new stuff. norah is incredible. wish i could catch a concert with you my steve ;-)
icing it alone here in good old ct,
kelley
-
Norah Jones looks white in her newest video. It's so weird. I thought she was Michelle Branch for a minute.
I love that video...it's so cute.
-
"Seeing as how her debut album has sold over 8 million copies, Norah Jones might feel right at home knowing that her new effort, Feels Like Home, will debut at #1 on next week's Billboard albums chart with just over 1.02 million copies sold, according to SoundScan figures released Wednesday (February 18). For the rest of the world, however, her first-week sales are astronomical." -- From MTV.com
8O, that is rather impressive. I figured that would happen. She doubled up Kanye West, which was #2, lol.
-
3 straight at #1!
-
I love her new song, what is it sunrise???
Very nice, I like her soothing jazz voice....*sigh*
Manda
-

-

-
3 more Grammys. I'm starting to watch the Grammys expecting awards for her. She's the Patriots of the Grammys. I'm kind of proud to say I'm a fan since the beginning before most people heard of her.
-
I just preordered the Little Willies album coming out in March. It's a new project from Norah Jones. She and her friends formed this group and they sing songs by Hank Williams, Willie Nelson, Townes Van Zandt.
You can listen to the album here:http://www.emimusic.ca/thelittlewillies/
-

yeah, I saw their myspace. I was just kinda..shocked, not for her trying different things musically, but for the whole theatrical fake punk look with wig, make-up and puink clothing lol. Very weird. Although I did like her as a blonde.
-
January 30, 2007! I already have it on pre-order. Thinking About You is awesome. I also can't wait to see My Blueberry Nights. Norah, Rachel Weisz, AND Natalie Portman mmmmmm mmmmmmm!
-
I just saw her new music video for her new single Thinking About You on Yahoo Music and captured it and uploaded it for those who might want it.

I DIDN'T LIKE THE FACT THAT " FEELS LIKE HOME " IS SORT OF COMPLICATED.. COS I SPEND SO MUCH TIME TO PLAY IT ON MY CD PLAYER....
THE CD IS SORT OF ANTI-PIRACY AND IT MAKES THE PLAY SLOW...
-
^it played just fine for me.
_____________
Thanx for the video, I'm downloading it :D
-
I think the new song is alright, but I did love the video with all the thoughts inside thoughts inside thoughts...really cute
thanx steve;)

you can hear her whole album at vh1.com. Here's the link: http://www.vh1.com/music/hear_music_first
-
Love the song Rosie's lullabye, its my fav along with the song seven years. Norah is the bomb, but I really love her 1st album.
-
I love her music. How to categorize it? I have her DVD (Live in 2002). On the bonus side, there's one of the band's member, Robbie Machintosh, saying about her genre. He said, and I quote: It's not one particular Jazz, it's not country....it's Norah Jones.

I love love love Norah Jones too! I take a modern dance class, and the song we're dancing to in the upcoming recital is "Thinking About You". :D
