What type of fish?
-
My feeder gold fish!! I got him while learning about ecosystems and he was the only fish to live out of them all! He ate turle food for 2 years! I want to bring him to the vet but my mommy wont let me!! I'm so sad!
-
the vet probably couldn't do anything...you might wanna get another one in there, and then it will kinda take its place, and you will get use to it while the other one is still there...
poor fishy...maybe he will survive....
*thoughts go to the fishy :( *

 My poor poor fish!

Let me play devil's advocate...
Trust me, far worse things will happen in your lifetime than your fish dying. My mom actually told me once that the reason she gave me pets would be so I would have to cope with death and disappointment--it's a part of life.
-
that just made me ball my eyes out! Thanks!
-
No problem.
-
awww! i'm sorry Shelly! :( *hug*
i've never had a fish that long... so i dont know what it feels like to be that attached to a fish, but i'm attached to my dog and it would kill me if she died
the longest living fish ive had are the ones i have now... they are 9 month old beta fish named Twilight and Sway (wonder where i got those names, lol)
-
Thanks Holly! you are so nice!! I am attached to my dogs too but I'm so attached to all of my animals! like when my turtle died the day before passover I cried at passover and I made a big stink! I was sad. :'(

geeze... you dont have to be so rude! just cause you dont get attached to a fish doesnt mean its wrong when other people do! have some consideration! it sounds like she had this fish for a long time, so that is reason for her to be upset that it might be dying.
i had a fish i was kinda attached to cause it wasnt a normal fish... it would like come to the top of the bowl and like say hi to me and bite my finger and stuff... it was cute, so i liked it! it commited suicide and i was upset, not very upset cause i have only had it like 6months... so yeah! it happens!

yeah! i get very attached to my pets too! but my dog is like my family... omg, when i loose her... i dont even wanna think about it!
the most upset ive ever been over loosing a pet is when my rabbit died cause i had had her for years! and i mated her parents to get her, and when her mom abandoned her i hand fed her, and she was just a really sweet rabbit. so thats why i got attached
-
awww thats how I'm gonna feel when my dog aries dies. I've had her since I was four and she is the same age as me now. She's fourteen. It's going to be really really sad.
-
aww...
my dog is 12! i've only had her since i was 5, but it seems like my whole life. she always cheers me up and is SO sweet. she's the first one to greet me when i get home. she's very cute too!
-
awww thats so sweet.

-
:'( You are welcome to come. You can watch me flush him. It'll be like that cosby show. All my family will come together for my fish...freddy. :'(

Why?
A) I'm an asshole
B) http://forum.nessaholics.com/viewtopic.php?t=2091. A fish dying doesn't even compare.

i'm not sayin it compares with that at all! it in no way even begins to come close! but i'm just saying... Shelly is upset about it and she has a right to be. i say... you have a right to your opinion but not when it hurts someone else

Did he ever say it was wrong to get attached to a pet? he just said there are worse things that can happen in life. And there are.
You shouldn't read so much into what people say. Just take their words at face value.

Well, today after 3 days of suffering to stay alive Freddie, my fish died. I was so upset to see him go only because my parents didn't tell me he was dead. They found him floating in his tank and then they flushed him down the toilet. So tonight around 11 I go downstairs and said " where is my fish?" And they said he was dead! They didn't even tell me! That hurts because I wanted to say goodbye to him and they just flushed him. Freddie was a great fish. He lived in a little plastic bowl and ate turtle food. Whenever someone would go to up to the tank he would swim over to greet you! He was like a dog. A loving, careing, friendly animal who you would always tell your feelings to. I loved that fish so much and will miss him.
