Disappear

She lingers in the doorway
Not knowing where to turn
Gazing into the fire
That she wants
But fears will burn

She is afraid
Yet all is crystal clear
She can see the end
Within her reach
So far, yet so near

She calls out for help
But no one comes
Tears stream down her cheeks
Her heart breaks
And her soul numbs

She is afraid
Yet all is crystal clear
She can see the end
Within her reach
So far, yet so near

She begs
And she pleads
She screams
And she bleeds

She is afraid
Yet all is crystal clear
She can see the end
Within her reach
So far, yet so near

She whispers her last words
To unhearing ears
Then she steps forward into space
And disappears…
