Nobody was flipping. Si and Rosie were both right.
The fact of the matter is that the thread you made was only for one person. The exact same purpose would have been served with a PM. You're right, if it was titled and worded like this thread, then it wouldn't have been locked. You may have meant it to be a question for everyone, but there was no indication that this was the case. The rules have to be applied generally and so it was locked.
The lock is nothing personal. It's just to keep this place free of chat threads (one on one).

I know Danvers is right next to Lynn and Peabody. There is a big sign that says Danvers on the highway....it's like 20 minutes past where the old roy rogers was thats now a mcdonalds.....yup this I know...I've done a lot of traveling in my short but meaningful life.
