Title: NCAA 2004
Post by: Katia's Lover on July 17, 2003, 07:23:45 am
If you like sports video games, you need this one.

THIS (at least until Madden comes out) IS THE BEST VIDEO GAME EVER INVENTED.

Seriously, it's awesome.

(It doesn't hurt that Georgia Southern [6 time I-AA national champions]) is on the game either.

Is it really THAT good? I was going to skip on this year's edition and just buy Madden, seeing as last years Madden made NCAA look like CRAP, lol.

I may have to rent it or something just to check it out, but I doubt I'll buy it.

Like I said in an earlier topic, the features for Madden last year was better but the game play in NCAA 2003 was better.

In this year's edition, the features have been GREATLY improved.  In fact, I'm willing to bet the features in NCAA 2004 or as good IF NOT BETTER than the features in Madden 2004.

If you like sports gaming, especially football, YOU MUST HAVE THIS GAME.

But I totally agree with your process.  When in doubt, rent and see if you like it first.  I didn't do this simply because this is the first time they've put Georgia Southern "in the game" as EA would say.  It wasn't an option for me.

Yeah ... I will probably rent it next week, seeing as I have not a damn thing better to do when I am not at work since a couple of my friends are going out of town.

I like recruiting and all of that... it was just that the defensive controls, and the animations in last years NCAA game kind of soured me, especially compared to Madden lol.

[rant]... and since Andrew brought up NFL2k4, I did my homework on it and the game actually doesn't look half bad. From the caps I saw the animations aren't your oblong polygons like that 989 crap, and it sounds like it has decent features. I think I'll like Madden better, but maybe I'll rent that too... I'm just glad it isn't 989, I hate 989 sports games.[/rant]

I will now quit bitching about last year's game, this one is MUCH better. I went and rented it ... I like. It seems like they took the Madden player animation engine, improved it, and actually added some stuff. I am diggin' some of the new tackle animations lol.

Yeah ... I am having fun with this. The defensive controls are much improved ... and I really like the fact that when you throw an errant pass but one of your other WR's/DB's is near it he will TRY to catch it and not look at and do the "which way did it go" face it like in so many other games lol. Kind of reminds me of last year's Madden, but better.

Yup, that's one of the main areas that EA said they worked on--passing AI.

I'm thinking they worked on blocking animations too, they are a lot better. Plus they figured out how the manual user can get pancakes too, because I remember in the other games how the computer would have like 150 pancakes at the end of the season and your top O-Lineman would have like 18 lol
