Title: what are bogomips?

I was reading something where someone was reffering to bogomips.  I have no idea what they are.  It was about computers.

I thinks it's a unit of measurement used for CPU speed.

1 BogoMip = 1 Million Instructions (executed) Per Second (MIPS)
