Does anyone have an audio program, where I could give you 4 pieces (60 seconds each) of a song, and you can put them together and send them back?
A lot of computers have it(of course these library computers don't) just click under start, programs, accessories, and then media or something like that....
Thanks!

By the way....You should give the song a listen!
It's Josh Kelly "Amazing" the live performance from "Late Night with Conan O'Brien"

Just the two parts yeah? Ok .. I'll glue them together and PM you a link to the resulting audio file so you can download it.
-
Err i sent 4 parts...

The second one doesn't seem to end properly.. it just cuts off. Are there two more 60 second clips you need to send me?
Oh .. ignore that .. I'm downloading them now!
Do you want me to remove the talking at the start?
-
Nah, you can leave the talking...
-
Okay.

Done. I sent you a PM.

Thanks so much!
Do you want me to tell you when I have it uploaded so you can delete it?

No probs! I thought I may as well make it a bit louder and try to get rid of some of the noise, although it wasn't all that successful.
Yeah let me know when you've got what you need and I'll get rid, although there's no hurry =)

OMG!
Could you just upload it to my tripod site?
-
Daniel, maybe you should pick up a copy of CoolEdit Pro and learn to do this stuff. It's really easy, once you have the hang of it.
-
Hang on lol .. it was a 20Mb file.
I just zipped them up, so have another look at that url and download the zip files.. they're a tenth the size.
-
For info, I used GoldWave, which is shareware. I think you can pay to have certain tools unlocked, but I've never bothered. It's great for basic editing..

I actually have an editing featuring on my computer at home, its not big and fancy....but the story is...
My computer at home is broken, well unable to connect to the internet,(lightning struck the phone line, when I was online) and I can't afford a new one, since no one will hire me....So....I recorded that song onto it, and since I don't have a CD burner I have to cut it into 60 second bits and then save them to floppy disks and bring them to the library...

So, you are saying that your computer works, but your modem was fried? Ehh... too bad I don't live near you. I have a few lying around that you could have. If you pay shipping, one of them is your's.

Is it easy to use? And you bet, I would pay shipping and for the item, it is easier than buying a new computer.

Hey Matt, could you just upload the .wav to my site, this computer is being so messed up about the .ZIP thing....
Thanks so much for taking the time to help me with this!

That's okay. PM me the details about how to upload to your site and I'll sort it for you. Just make sure there's plenty of space .. it's around 20Mb!
What's wrong with using the zip file? Should work fine. As long as you have winzip installed, you simply right click on the file and then "Extract to blablabla.wav" ..

Modems are cheap cheap! You can pick up an external usb modem from around £30 which is .. um .. something dollars lol.

I got it done...haha, Thanks!
And for that modem thing....I wouldn't know what the heck I was doing...LoL! I think I am pretty dumb with computer set up and stuff...LoL!

USB is mega simple to set up. You just plug it in the only slot it will fit properly and install the software when it asks. You usually get basic instructions anyway.
-
Okay...Do know where I can get it and how much? LoL!

Okay...Do know where I can get it and how much? LoL!
Actually, maybe this would be better. I can give you a free internal modem... but you might not want to open the case and install it yourself.

I don't know about where you'd order hardware in the States. I tend to use places like www.simply.co.uk and www.aria.co.uk but these are UK distributors. I guess you'll have similar.
USB modems are very simple to install (I'm guessing you don't want to open up your pc and install an internal modem) and they are cheap as well. Over here you can get them from around £30, which is .. what .. $60? Something like that.

Aria is good, and they are conveniently about 10 mins. away from where I live :). As are micro direct (another good independent supplier). Fat lot of good that is to you outside of the UK though...
But I would expect that modems have a dollar pricing similar to the pound pricing that we pay here (i.e. look for one for about $30).
-
Why do you think modems are going to be half the price in the States than they are here? I'm not disputing it .. just curious why you think that.

I dunno; I seem to remember quite a lot of stuff in the US selling for about the same in dollars as we pay in pounds. Maybe not the case here, but I'd shop around a little rather than thinking a $50 is necessarily a good deal ($50 == £30, near enough).

Hey Matt,
Josh played on Jay Leno last night....If you know what I mean...

I'm gonna look around on some sites that should be good:
Best Buy (http://www.bestbuy.com)
Circuit City (http://circuitcity.com)

Do any of these look good?

From the first site, looks like this one would be fine. It will do the job, will be easy to install and is the cheaper out of those listed (apart from the one that isn't usb .. but you want usb really).

I'm giving up on the second site. It's slow and impossible to find anything o_-
