Hey all, I just got my XM radio newsletter and lo and behold.....

Premiere! My Mixtape: Vanessa Carlton
Vanessa Carlton invited host Evan James into her apartment (where her record collection also lives) to talk in-depth about her fondest musical memories and about how she was turned on to bands like The Dave Matthews Band via mixtapes! Vanessa's eclectic Mixtape includes everything from opera to classic rock, Stevie Wonder to U2 ,The Police to Elton John, Neil Young and others.

I'll do my best to tape this and get it in digital form.  It's on friday at noon then again at 6pm so I'll have two shots at it.

Yeah, and just for the record, I didn't add the line about DMB in there!  She really apparently likes Dave!

Damn that girl has great taste in music!

I think I'm just gonna run a line from my XM radio into my PC and then just use AudioForge to rip the audio straight off the incoming line.  Then i can encode it to Mp3 and put it up on my server for all.

I am sooooo amazingly angry.  Twice now I have tried to record it.  Last night it was supposed to be on at 6 and 6 rolls around and NO NESSA.  Not explanation, no excuse, just not there.  The schedule says it will be on again sat.  It should be on every week till sept because thats when a new episode of the show starts with Chris Carabas from Dashboard Confessional.

I'll try again on sat I guess.

OK, I finally got the rip.  I actually missed the first song due to technical difficulties, but it was Ants Marching by Dave Matthews Band.

I didn't edit out any comercials due to me currently lacking any good editing software.

I will have to say this, Vanessa has GREAT taste in music!

Cool Edit Pro has a free demo. It's good for light recording and editing. The demo is good for 20 days. If you already know about it, I apologize for pointing out the obvious... or something like that......
