I mean Robin, yeah I call Robin Ventura Johnny Ventura, because of well it's a long story but
So trade deadline was at 4 PM today Yankees gave Johnny to the Dodgers for 2 minor leagers (but they need it I've seen their minor league teams) Anyway, I'm sad   I liked Johnny (Robin) yeah him . . .
We got Aaron Boone to, for 2 minor league pitchers and some cash
Anyway . . .

Apparently they really wanted Boone *shrug* ... they really need a right fielder though. I am not buying David Dellucci as a starter, and Karim Garcia and Ruben Sierra are train-wrecks on defense. I am sure they'll get someone though, they have $$$$.

so yea.. how about that weather?!
-
Hey, I like baseball talk :D ... and our weather is insignificant, and I don't know what the weather is like there

Lol!
Dellucci impressed me in the field tonight, but that's just tonight . . .well, Torre's brilliant, and yeah we do got the cash, so I'm guessing something will work out . . .especially as far as clinching the division goes. (Boston has a tough schedual the rest of the season)
But the Yankees felt the HAD TO ditch Raul Mondesi, he got upset for being pinch hit for the other day, left the bench and showered before the game was over . . .also upset about all of Garcia's playing time. And even though they gave the D-Backs $2 mil, he still cleared up a big chunck of salary.
-
Yeah Mondesi wasn't the answer either. It was only a matter of time until they ditched him, he just gave them a reason. Dellucci is a glorified pinch-hitter, at least that is what he was in the NL, but he may fare better if he gets to play every day.
I know they'll get someone, they always do. The Red Sox tried to sure up their bullpen with the additions of Williamson, Sauerbeck, Suppan etc. but I still think Kim is a choke-artist lol. Williamson is a better closer IMO.
We will see though, I think in the end the Yankees will tower over all in the East as always.
-Brian
-
Kim, he's okay, he just can't pitch against the Yankees. Period. Do I need to bring up the '01 world series? hehe
I'm liking Williamson (well if I liked the sox hehehehe) but looking at Sauerbeck's numbers seem incosistent, his era has varied so much year to year . . .I don't know what to expect. Don't know much about Suppan
-
Sauerbeck is decent, left-handed specialist. He can be inconsistent though. Actually looking at his stats he is having a great year, but eh.
Suppan is overachiving, IMO. He hasn't exactly been facing teams that have been lighting the world on fire. Three of his wins have come at the expense of my Brewers *cries*.
He has won his last five decisions, but from what I am noticing he is streaky. He won his first 4 decisions, then lost 5, then went W, L, W, L, and has own his last five. So he will go into a tailspin sometime, I can almost guarantee that just by looking at his numbers.
Williamson is good, I've always liked him.

A part of me is angry that we gave up Boone to a team i HATE. BUT, at the same time, i have to be glad we got a good pitching prospect out of it. He could turn out to be a fine player.
Really, though, I'm surprised the Yanks gave up so much. Since Boone was DEMANDING a trade, the Yanks could have held out and maybe gotten a better deal.

Yeah, the Reds have made out nicely with their trades. They got the good prospect from NY and got Aaron Harang, who some people have been salivating over in the A's system for years for Guillen.

I was RIGHT outside Cincy (at the Kings Island Resort hotel LOL room 320) when I heard about Boone being traded! I'm so happy 'cause he and Jeter can be sexy together! Yay!

A BETTER deal? What are you TALKING about?! Are we supposed to get some unattractive immigrant?! I'm people, too, and >people< demands sexiness (Aaron Boone)!
Now that that intelligent piece is taken care of, I would like you to know I was unable to attend the Reds v. Giants game Frday night and that I hate everyone.

Boone has a huge support group in Cininatti. I remember at one of the games I went to, they honored one of his biggest support groups or something like that.
He's poopular in Cincy.
But honestly, Cincinatti! Guillen and Boone! They've lost their minds. Trade Griffey for God's sake, he always gets injured. Maybe we'll get decent pitching, which is what we really need.
I say it as if I'm on the Red's team...

It's a universal rule, if you have been a fan of a team for more than 5 years then you can say "we". But you can only say "we" about one team PER sport. So only one MLB can be a "we" and only one NFL team etc etc
Frankly, this year is a wash, so it was time to start unloading some of the older guys and rebuild. We need to keep the new manager for next season though. He's been rockin down here in Louisville for the last few years.

eh....i think the Mets shoulda never gave Ventura up....

No one would take that albatross of a contract LOL. They did get a couple of good pitching prospects in the trades, but the offense is hurtin' for it lol.

*nods* We are hurting now that we lost two of our three best players.
Just don't get rid of Dunn!
-
Yeah. The only untouchables in trade talks were Dunn and Kearns, so they aren't going anywhere.

It sure looks that way lol

no, it REALLY looks that way . . .
