Title: Straylight Run
Post by: Grakthis on August 13, 2003, 07:13:45 am
check out Straylight run at straylightrun.com.  They are a band started by the former basist and backup singer for Taking Back Sunday.  They then added the former drummer of breaking pangaea and the singers sisster.

Currently they are doing limited touring and have a few songs for download on the website, but since the singer was responsible for cowriting a number of TBS's songs, I expect great things!

Oooh I love Strayligt Run (or SLR)

If you like Taking Back Sunday and/Or Breaking Pangaea, you will fo' sho' like this band   SLR is made up of members from BP and TBS, and they are quite the kick ass band if i do say so myself.

Their music is so good! Even if you don't really like Emo, I really suggest you checking this band out. My personal favorite right now is "A Slow Decent." Their other 5 songs are:

1. Mistakes We Knew We Were Making
2. The Tension and the Terror
3. Exhistentialism on Prom Night
4. It's Everybody's Fault But Mine
5. For The Best

Their music is a really cool mix of awesome guitar, piano, and drum riffs. Their lyrics are so honest and truethfull, and the singers put a lot of emotion in to them. to check out more go to: http://www.straylightrun.com/

Mistakes We Knew We Were Making is fucking spectacular.  Some of the rest still needs work, but they are refineing their sound and getting better with each song they put on the website.  I like them a bunch.

God... I've talked about them so much on here in other threads I can't believe no one started a thread before now.

that's because no one has the kind of genious i do    :-P

i'm starting to like their songs better than TBS...i wish they would put out more! 6 songs is not enough! but i'm excited to see what kind of direction they go in, because i think, like you said, they have room to grow, and become an even more amazing band than they already are

That's the first picture I have seen of the chick.  I'd hit that. :dr evil:

She should sing on more songs.  She adds a good change of pace.

*sings* I know you wanna hit that...I know you wanna hit that ..... aaah the return of The Offspring, great band :-P

Anywhose, back to SLR, i do enjoy the girls voice on the songs. It's very Jimmy Eat World-ish, at least in "Bleed American."

Big funny has been a part of my vobabularly since I was like 12.  My brother started saying it thanks to the game Super Smash TV.  The games announcer used to say "Big money! Big Prizes! I Love It!".  So my brothers used to say "Big [insert adjective]" all the time.

Big Funny kinda stuck and we all still say it.

haha probably not, i don't think it's that big of a deal :-P or they just haven't been doing their mod-ly duties and aren't paying attention

that was in my info for the longest time! i looooooove all their songs

I'm always paying attention   ... I just didn't realize this was a duplicate thread until I went to add it to the anthology tonight, LOL. I merged the two however. -B

LMAO, i just took a "What SLR song are you?" quiz on quizilla, and I got Exhistentialism on Prom Night!

You are content. You love life , even though it might not be so perfect. People either love you or hate you, because they want to be you.

hahaha i don't know if that's exactly true, but i don't care since Exhistentialism... is my favorite song by them :-P you can take the quiz  here  (http://quizilla.com/users/TheSameOldGirl/quizzes/What%20Straylight%20Run%20song%20describes%20something%20about%20you%3F/)

Aww.. that's one of my favorite covers, it makes me feel really good.  :)
I also like EOPN and Your Name here (Sunrise Hoighway). People say that STR is an emo band, is that true? They don't sound like it though.
