Ok, some cats prefer fresh or running water.  Try running some water in a sink.

Why do you think she isn't drinking water?  Cats aren't like Dogs.  You don't have to carefully monitor and watch them.  You show her where the litter box is, then you show her where the water and food are and that's about it.  The rest is just teaching them not to claw up the sofa or jump on the coffee table.

If the cat doesn't appear to be drinking the water you put out, then shes getting water from somewhere else.

My cat used to claw my mom's plants and dig them up.

He's silly,

Your cat isn't drinking the water because cats can't stand cholrine (sp?). Leave the water a bit and it will come out of the water.

That is completely not true.  Most cats I know off will always go after fresh water LONG before stagnant water.  My cats LOVE dripping faucets as do my parents and brothers.

And when you get old you'll have 31 cats and you'll keep alll the baseballs that the neighbors hit into your yard.  That's what will happen.

They go after a dripping faucet because it moves. Besides, you can't really taste anything in such small amounts.

All I know is that my cat won't immediately drink water out of his dish. He much prefers drinking out of the toilet in the hallway bathroom (which I might add, is never used, unless guests are over). Also, he'll drink out of puddles. But... it takes him hours to want to drink out the dish.

No one is even looking at the BIGGER problem, here, people! The BIGGER problem is how will we out-smart cats?! Cats KNOW they're smarter than any other species, and cats are just stubborn to piss everyone off, so they can take over the world! Everyone knows no one can concentrate when he or she is angry, and cats especially know shitl ike that BECAUSE THEY'RE SMARTER THAN ANY SPECIES.

Have I made my point clear enough? So, any advice on how we can out-smart cats?

I agree.  Cats don't like to drink out of their dish.  But not because they dont like chlorine.  Also, I dont think chlorine will evaporate out of a dish.  IN fact, it SHOULD gets worse because chlorine breaks down into chloramines.  Chlorine has little or no smell or taste.  Chloramines do.

If a bad storm comes up, my cousin's cat will go get in the downstairs bathtub.  Yes, I think cats are smarter than at least many humans. 8)
