these girls are known for their powerful voices... who do you think is the best?
-
I clicked on the wrong one!! I wanted to say Christina because her voice is soooooooooooooooooooooooooo awesome and even more powerful live!!
-
Mariah..
-
OMG! EVIL! I have NO IDEA how to decide on this one. They're all top in their own special way... grrr, this is rough.
Celine Dion - Incredibly talented, one of the largest vocal ranges and consistent performers. Been around a long time
Mariah Carey - Quite possibly might have the largest vocal range i know of. I think she's great.
Whitney Houston - I think in the early 90s, she was HOT... but she's not anywhere near what she used to be... sucks :(
Christina Aguilera - meh, she has a great voice.. i'm just not a huge fan so it's rough for me to give any opinion.
Kelly Clarkson - Seems powerful, Miss Independant is good along with others... i think she'll get better over time.
Amy Lee - I think right now, my <3 belongs to Amy... in a strictly platonic way ;) I love her voice, but i think she has so much room to grow still! She's been singing for years, but the consistent touring i think is teaching her even more about her vocals.
Leann Rimes - Is she known for having a powerful voice? Her range isn't huge but now that i think about it, what songs i have heard seem "powerful." She also seems like a very consistent performer.
I can't discuss this list without mentioning Sarah Brightman. She has an incredibly powerful and beautiful voice. I love it :)
When you put aside personal opinions about individuals character, i don't know if it is possible to judge "power" alone. You have Power/Vocal Range/Consistency... hrm
I remember something Cher said after one of those shows on VH1 where Celine sang next to Aretha Franklin... Cher said "I will never seen on stage with Celine again because no one can match her." I think that is true.
I guess i'd choose Celine
ok *sigh*

Mariah Carey definitely. Her music may not be great now, but her voice is still one of the best in the business. Plus the older stuff was just off the chain.

yeah, it was hard for me to choose too...
each one is great in her own way!!
i rememember when i saw Celine Dion in concert she was introduced as having the most pure voice. which i think is true... her voice is so beautiful! it's just like... wow!
Mariah Carey is amazing too... i think she can sing higher than anyone else! i saw her in concert too and she is just as amazing live!
Whitney Houston used to be amazing... but lately she's kinda iffy... but i couldnt leave her out!
Christina Aguilera definatly has some amazing vocals, that girl is one of the strongest singers ever! every time i have to sing, i warm up to her! she is also awesome live!
Kelly Clarkson is new... but even on AI her voice blew me away! her new single "Low" rocks! her voice is like... whoa (haha, that reminded me of Mya)
Amy Lee. ofcourse i love Amy Lee!!! her voice is sooo beautiful, she's amazing! and always sounds great.
Leann Rimes is great too! and she's been singing since such a young age and is always consistent. i love her singing style, her voice is great! "How Do I" is my favorite song to sing. i sang it at my cousin's wedding reception and everyone came inside to listen, lol, atleast they didnt all go outside... so thats a good sign!
but i think i'd have to give it to Christina! Amy Lee is a very close 2nd... but this was tough.

umm I have seen Chantal Kreviazuk live and she is one of the
best voices I have ever heard live in my life.
Mariah probably has the best raw voice and even Jessica Simpson too
surprisingly has a great range and powerful voice.
Tough pick...

I voted Celine Dion... But that's the only things she has: her voice... nothing more... It's only a voice.
-
I vote Amy Lee, but Christina was a close 2nd.
-
yay! amy's winning! :)
i feel sorry for Whitney, Kelly and Leann tho
-
Amy Lee all the way!
-
Amy Lee is the only tollerable one.
-
hands down mariah...whitney comes close...well not anymore unfortunately...its sad :(. Kelly, I think, has the most versatile voice. I absolutely love it...she made me want to sing. Leann Rimes also remarkable, its just against these other girls she doesn't stand too much chance. Celine is so amazing too...omg all these women are amazing singers. Christina can do licks like crazy and is a powerhouse. I dont know Amy Lee very well...her voice sounds really good but theres just some quality to it thats too throaty...like it wont last...I dunno. I think Jessica Simpson is definitely up with these people too. Oh and Lauryn Hill too definitely.

hehe I love Phantom!
-
I have the best voice, hands down. ;)

I have the best voice, hands down. ;)
Ya I agree..... Out of the list though I would say Christina
-
Of course you agree!
Simple things that mae you run away. Catch you if I can . . .
-
I don't care whether your hands are up or down, you still have a good voice!
-
Christina! I was blown away when I saw her a couple years ago!
-
Hmm... out of that list... Me personally say there wasn't much to choose from ;)
I agree with katia... Sarah Brightman is AMAZING but doesn't quite fall into the same genre as the others...
I went with Celine, simply because when compared with the others she has the experience and maturity to cary off amazing performance. I may not like the music but I can't deny that it's well done.

Amy Lee - I think right now, my <3 belongs to Amy... in a strictly platonic way ;) I love her voice, but i think she has so much room to grow still! She's been singing for years, but the consistent touring i think is teaching her even more about her vocals.

That's good... I wouldn't have to pop you upside the head for hitting on my woman!
-
Christina A I think, she always sounds good.
I've seen Mariah mime on UK tv so not her!
-
I have the best voice, hands down. ;)
You do, but I didn't vote for you because you're not on the list. Are we talking old Whitney or new Whitney? No one could beat young Whitney, please.
