Farm Aid Adds Eight Artists
Farm Aid 2003 has added eight new artists to its lineup: Vanessa Carlton, Hootie & the Blowfish, Emmylou Harris, Daniel Lanois, Los Lonely Boys, Aaron Brotherton, Titty Bingo and Billy Bob Thornton.
They join previously announced performers Sheryl Crow, Brooks & Dunn, Trick Pony and headliners Willie Nelson, Neil Young, John Mellencamp and Dave Matthews for the concert, which will be held Sept. 7 at Germain Amphitheater in Columbus, Ohio.
Ticket packages and memorabilia are currently up for auction on eBay.com, with proceeds benefiting the Farm Aid organization. For more information, visit Farmaid.org.
The annual concerts, organized by Farm Aid founders Nelson, Young and Mellencamp in 1985, have raised more than $24 million to assist and promote the U.S. family farm system.

*agrees with Grakthis* This concert is going to be sooooo good. I bid for two tickets on ebay, so we'll have to wait and see if I win them. If I do, I'm going to take my uncle (he's a farmer and really like Willie Nelson) so everybody cross their fingers for me.
I really wish I was still living in Columbus because then I would have heard about this months ago and been able to get tix for a more reasonable price... oh well. I'm only bidding on the official farmaid tix, so at least the money will go to a good cause.

I BEG SOMEONE TO RECORD THE NEW SONGS IN THIS SHOW!! I implore you people who are going to the show. * I am down on my knees * There are so many people out there who can't make it to the show but are really desperate to hear Nessa's new stuff. Even if the recordings sucks really bad, it doesn't matter, as long as we can hear the tune. THANK YOU.

I don't think anybody from here is going. The concert was already sold out when they added Nessa to the bill. Actually, the concert sold out within two weeks of the tickets going on sale due to massive promotion by local media. The tickets that were sold on ebay sold for more than a hundred bucks a pop (I bidded up until 80 bucks). The only way I think I could be able to get tickets is to win some from a local radio station (which I might try to do). I'm also thinking about emailing the DJs that I know from radio stations that promoted the concert, and seeing if they can make an appeal for me to anybody who has extra tickets. If I could get in, I would definately tape the show. But I don't know how much hope I have of getting tickets. My only real hope is to win them, or maybe show up at the venue and buy some from scalpers... which could be very painful in the pocketbook.
So I don't know. *sigh*
