it seems like it happened just yesterday and in 2 days, it has been 2 years already...
What will you do, on that day?
-
i will work - thats all you really can do.

Well, I have been trying to ignore it.
Yesterday, the last firefighter to be memorialized had a service in Brooklyn, the family was still waiting for some piece of him to be identified. They finally buried a vial of blood that he had donated to a bone marrow bank.
too sad

The day's forever scarred.
I'll try to carry on normally,
but it'll be on my mind every moment.

Well one thing I do know...
In 5-10 years, most kids and some of us won't even think of it. Just like Pearl Harbor. I think one of the main reason's most people remember it is just because people call it the date. September 11th. They don't call Pearl Harbor December 7th.
Oh well....
School.

it's crazy to think that it's been a couple of year's since
I got the news in class that day. wow....
It really makes me think ya know?

it is a beautiful, clear, cool day here in NY
not unlike 9-11-01
yet I feel that the sun will never again shine as brightly as it did on that day

how poetic
I wore a wristband with the American flag on it.

it was sad, we were suppose to have a moment of silence, but it never happened....

It's really eerie..
It feels exactly the same.

Us too, i wasnt too happy about that.
But anyways- i wore the colors today, and kept everyone who lost someone special and those who died during the attacks in my thoughts and prayers all day long.
Never forget :(

I used to have, I think, 2 shirts: One with "NYPD" on it, and anoter one with something about the Fire Department. I don't know where they are, it ticks me off . . . I have nothing to wear, except my I (heart) NY shirt.

i was listening to my yellowcard cd that i got a week ago... and it takes me a long time to go all the way through a cd, cause i listen to the same songs over and over again. but today i was listening to "Believe" for the first time and i was paying attention to the lyrics and it is about the heros who lost their lives on September 11th! i recomend you all listen to it! it is on their newest cd "Ocean Avenue". its a really touching song!
here are the lyrics:
"Believe"
Think about the love inside the strength of heart
Think about the heroes saving life in the dark
Climbing higher through the fire, time was running out
Never knowing you weren't going to be coming down alive
But you still came back for me
You were strong and you believed
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Be strong. Believe.
Be strong. Believe.
Think about the chance I never had to say
Thank you for giving up your life that day
Never fearing, only hearing voices calling out
Let it all go, the life that you know, just to bring them down alive
And you still came back for me
You were strong and you believed
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Be strong. Believe.
(Again today, we take into our hearts and minds those who perished on this site one year ago, and also those who came to toil in the rubble to bring order out of chaos, to help us make sense of our despair)
Wanna hold my wife when I get home
Wanna tell the kids they'll never know how much I love to see them smile
Wanna make a change or two right now
Wanna live a life like you somehow
Wanna make your sacrifice worthwhile
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Be strong. Believe.
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Be strong. Believe.
Think about the love inside the strength of heart
Think about the heroes saving life in the dark
Think about the chance I never had to say
Thank you for giving up your life that day
(The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here)

we didn't have any moments of silence cuz we had delay today cuz of Fog. But in my humanites class my teacher read a poem called Names... and it had names written w/ in the poem that were some names of the people who died on sept 11th.. it was really moving... I dunno i just know that someday my kids will ask me about it, and i'm always going to get a lil' emotional about it. What happened was big and i hope we continue to read off the peoples names every year!

I didn't have anything Patriotic to wear yesterday, so I ended up wearing my red, white, and blue lip ring. Since I can't wear it to school, I didn't wear it long enough yesterday, so I'm gonna keep wearing it - for days on in. Show those damned Iraqis.
