Title: David Hodges
Post by: Vultch on October 08, 2003, 01:50:26 am
(http://www.notachristianband.com/origin/david3.jpg) (http://www.davidhodges.info/)
The man... David Hodges.

Some people know how he fits into the history of Evanescence. He was their keyboardist and backup vocalist on their Origin & Fallen albums, but left the band in December 2002, shortly before Fallen was released.

He is also an amazing solo artist! I adore his solo album from 2000 and the work he's done on the Summit Church compilations. Now we're just waiting for his new solo album to arrive in the next few months. With the experience he gained while with Ev, I know his new album will blow the old one out of the water.
The first and only David Hodges fan site:
http://www.davidhodges.info/ (http://www.davidhodges.info/)
Which is part of Ev is not a christian band.com (http://www.notachristianband.com/)
On there is a list of everything he's done solo thus far and complete lyrics transcribed by myself & posi. :)

He's an absolutely amazingly gifted musician.

He also used to do string arrangements. Which explains why Ev's are so damn good 8)

This isnt major label Tuesday stuff.
This is an independant CD release party (which usually means a concert) but for Trading Yesterday it means a worship/devotional time. haha

I'm not even positive I can get one from the party, they might limit the number a person can get. Might have to settle for the rips till the CD goes on sale to the general public in June. :? But even if they do limit, he might make an exception for me. HA! We'll see what happens.

Submit questions now for David Hodges!
Evboard has done interviews with Ben, Amy, John, Will, & Rocky. Now a joint project between evboard.com and notachristianband.com offers you a chance to submit questions for David Hodges (former keyboards, piano, backing vocals) now in the band Trading Yesterday.
All legitimate questions (and not duplicates) will be sent.
There is no deadline at the moment but roughly you'll have a couple weeks to post your questions. Cut off will be somewhere around the end of May.

Yes this was copy and pasted from the Evboard thread, sue me! All questions here on Nessaholics will be sent too.

questions have poured in a LOT faster than I expected. I was thinking I'd have to wait like 3 weeks to get 100, but there's nearly 100 already asked in the thread. CRAZY
A lot of dupicates tho... "would you ever rejoin Evanescence?" NO!
*rolls eyes*

Yeah, I listened to them.  Of course the later well produced stuff sounds ok.  Not really feeling it but interesting to say the least.  Give it a listen and find out.

What suprises me is how good 'I'm So Sorry' sounds, even though it is an earlier recording ---and about god.   And from an atheist that is a compliment.;)

Click on BV's picture of them to listen.

The band is at this moment recording their new EP which is due out this summer.
"the new stuff is really rad. new ty would beat up old ty in the parking lot after school."

An additional bonus, "One Day" was used in the trailer for In The Land Of Women (http://www.myspace.com/itlow). Check it out. It's pretty badass.

And in case you havnt already, download the newest album More Than This, cause it will never be available to buy, but luckily free to download.

On the local radio station, there was news about Hodges writing a song in response to one of Kelly Clarkson's songs, which was apparently about him... Trading Yesterday is dead.
The Age Of Information is dead.

David is now a solo artist signed to Warner Brothers Records.

In August he will be opening for Daughtry.

New single and EP should be out very soon.

He does have a couple new songs on his official myspace:

I am sad the Hodges dates were on such short notice, I may have considered heading to Chicago to see him.

I really dig the EP. I've always been a fan of the Hodges stuff, but the EP really impressed me. Some people just have a knack for creating good music and David apparently is one of those people.
