Title: Southern California fires!
Post by: Holly on October 26, 2003, 09:44:36 am
it started in Fontana... but that one has spread to La Verne! its huge! and worse yet, there are 4 separate big fires in So Cal right now. in San Diego, Clairmont, and Simi Valley too. this is so scary... i know people who live in or near those areas!!    there are ashes falling outside my house right now, and i'm not really close to any of those areas!
and sick people are setting off fires... the arsonists. just in my town, i have seen 2 separate fires people have started. but those have been put out since then. but in like the span of an hour last night i saw 2 fires within a mile or 2 of my house!  8O
this is soooo scary, i hate fires. luckily our house was saved.. but it came close and we lost our garage to one when i was younger... so especially since then ive been freaked out!
it is SO windy, hot and dry outside! which isnt good at all in a time like this....

Well, Mandi spend a night in a hotel. She's back at her house now. She can't really go outside, but the fire isn't that close to her anymore. The power was out and they said it wouldn't be back until the third. It came back today. Go figure. But yeah, she's ok. She also got today and yesterday off from school. She also gets tomorrow off. Lucky girl. :-P

well thats awesome that Mandi is ok! :)

wow... these fires are crazy! so scary!    :!:
these are some numbers i got from the news, but they could be off.
· At least 17 dead, including two in Mexico
· More than 1,600 homes destroyed
. Somewhere between 500,000 and 600,000 ancres destroyed (thats about the size of the whole state of Rhode Island!)  8O

the area where i am is soooo eirie, there is so much smoke that i cant even see blue sky anymore... everythings a greyish brown. and the sun was bright red! its hot too... about 90 or higher.

omg... i'm praying for rain!

yeah this whole fire thing is really sad. my cousin knows some people that houses got burned down. my friend has to evacuate but thankfully the winds changed. school is cancelled for the rest of the week and we're not even celebrating

ahhh... you know how some people have a special place they remember from their childhood? well mine is in danger of burning down. my grandparents got a place in lake arrowhead... it must have been about 50 or more years ago, and its still in the family (my aunt owns it now since my grandma passed away last year). my family has gone up there sooooo often my whole life, i love that place! but now i'm watching the news and lake arrowhead is surrounded by fire. no one actually lives there, but its still scary to think that it might be gone. we're watching it closely.

and my cousins in simi valley are being threatened and may have to come stay with us if things dont change for the better! i'm so worried about them!

well theyre saying theres chances of rain... so thats good! and things have cooled down, it's in the 60's now while it was in the 90's yesterday. and the humidity has gone up! so yeah, thats good news!!

:( my cousin is in the fires. they are right around her and she said that the fire is comming close to her...so being the smart person she is she has stuff in her car so if her house gets burnt down she will have some things.

I hope everyone stays safe in california!! My heart and blood goes out to you all!!

i guess so... i mean, it's not proven, but it kinda happens that way alot!
i even heard them saying on the news how there was "earth quake weather" yesterday. but they said earthquake weater might be a myth.
it's just most times... before an earthquake its warm, sometimes windy or breezy (but a warm wind or breeze), and its usually cloudy or smokey (in the case of yesterday. but in other words, you cant see the sun, but its warm. i guess thats how i'd describe it. it just has a really eerie feel to it!

and its not a known fact because it doesnt have to be that way before an earthquake happens, or if the weather is like that it doesnt always mean there's an earthquake. but when my mom told me "this is earthquake weather" i got really freaked out, cause its usually true. and it was this time! 8O

in every earthquake ive expirienced... it's always happened. maybe its like a warning of whats about to come. i dont know, no one can explain it. ive just been taught to be aware of what might happen when the weathers like that.

The last big earthquake I felt, it was warm and sunny, no clouds.

Ancedotal evidence can't even back this up.

yes, like i said, you cant prove it cause it doesnt happen everytime, and theres no scientific explanation.
just something that happens often.

i know someone who predicted this fire last week, he had a dream about it, days before it started. no one can prove it, maybe it was just a coincidence... but its still strange. and the same family also predicted 911 and other things...  8O

and its like that weird feeling in your stomach you get when you think something bad is going to happen. something bad doesnt always happen, but it sometimes does (most the time for me).

who knows how to explain these things, lol, theyre just mysteries.
