Title: Cat Power
Post by: missbehavior on October 27, 2003, 06:20:33 pm
I can't believe that no one has posted about Cat Power!!

Does anyone else love her? You Are Free is probably my favourite album released this year...

I saw her in concert, and she was tripping a bit too much to actually play a song, btu her music is still awesome...

Is anyone else a fan?!

She has a covers album - she did Satifaction, which is really good...

I would downlod her whole You Are Free album, but if you only want to download one or two songs, then go for Free and He-war (http://www.epitonic.com/files/reg/songs/mp3/Cat_Power-He_War.mp3) - they're both awesome songs!

And Aaron, I'm not sure what genre she is exactly...a bit alternate/folky...she is pretty much one of the best singer/songwriters around, IMO - if you like Vanessa on a different level to just being a fan, and liking the depth and originality (I really can't describe what I want to say) then you'll like Cat Power...

She was reviewed in TIME about a year ago . . .I downloaded a few songs . . .nothing blew me away, though. . .I don't know . . .Actually to be honset I can't even remember what she sounds like.  *sigh*

I know that sounded really negative but, what can I say.  I have a habit of listening to things once and then not giving it another go.  I think I'd like a lot more stuff if I did. . .but I don't.

(OMG I sound evil!)

umm i'm not sure you directed this comment towards me or not, but if you did my names not Aaron, it's Jessica :-P

i've tried downloading some of her songs off kazaa, but they take way too long for me to have the patience and wait....

Describes what I find so appealing about NESSAtunes Talitha! Descriptors
that encompass the body of V's work are choice b/c of diversity - but I like
enchanting b/c it somehow conveys more honestly the sensation you get!

Jessica :P

I had the iPod on shuffle the other day and "Werewolf" came on. Great song! I need to listen to the rest of "You Are Free" and "The Covers Record."

AH! I can't believe I just discovered her this past weekend. She's absolutely brilliant. I love "The Greatest" and "Moon Pix": two spectacular CDs.
