it's never too early to get into the thankful spirit!!! :)

I was actually thinking about what I was thankful for tonight at work. If it wasn't so late I'd start posting about it ...
See working retail makes you think ahead, because you get in things for the next season months in advance. We've had X-Mas stuff since August. lol ... Valentines stuff will be coming soon.
-
i gave a little thought to thanksgiving today too...but that's just because i have to write a column tomorrow for our last issue before thanksgiving and it has a somewhat related theme 8)

I Am Thankful For:
-Having a wonderful mother and sister (even though they drive me crazy sometimes, they also put up with me a lot  )
-My very best friend ever Sarah, because she's about the only person on earth who makes me feel like i'm not crazy
-My family - including extended family - because they're cool and stuff 8)
errmmm there's other stuff, but it's cheesier than what i put above, so i'll stop stimulating your upchuck reflexes now :D

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!
I hope you all have a wonderful day and you get to spend it with friends, family and other loved ones. I wonder why you say loved ones, cause wouldn't a loved one, be it a boyfriend or gf, spouse or what not still be a friend? Anyhow, you know what I mean.
I am watching the parade... it looks cold. I have been to the NYC St. Pat's Parade and I know what that wind is like, not fun. But the parade is cool. This thing comes on way too early but 9 isn't so bad when I usually have to get up at 6. I will visit with friends later. It's always nice to have friends who take you in when you are so far from home.
Did I mention it's going to be 81 today?
Take care and be safe :)

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!

And for the non-US people, a little lesson of American history:
Thanksgiving Day
Thanksgiving Day, national holiday in the United States commemorating the harvest reaped by the Plymouth Colony in 1621, after a winter of great starvation and privation. In that year Gov. William Bradford proclaimed a day of thanksgiving, and the feast was shared by all the colonists and the neighboring Native Americans. Although similar observances were held locally, they were sporadic and at no set time. After the American Revolution the first national Thanksgiving Day, proclaimed by George Washington, was Nov. 26, 1789. Abraham Lincoln, urged by Sarah J. Hale, revived the custom in 1863, appointing as the date the last Thursday of November. In 1939, 1940, and 1941 Franklin D. Roosevelt proclaimed Thanksgiving the third Thursday in November. When a contradiction arose between Roosevelt's proclamation and some of those of state governors, Congress passed a joint resolution in 1941 decreeing that Thanksgiving should fall on the fourth Thursday of November. The day is observed by church services and family reunions; the customary turkey dinner is a reminder of the four wild turkeys served at the Pilgrims' first thanksgiving feast.

YAY!! i'm excited it's thanksgiving!
My grandparents and my parents are here now, and we're waiting for my cousins, my uncles and my parents friends. My brother can't be here... and I feel bad for him!
The stove isnt working... so we cant cook, but we're going to have soup here and then go out to eat... then come back home for pie. I wish we could eat at home though... it'll be weird going out! but o well!
