Title: Breakfast: A Thrilling Insight
Post by: rosieposy87 on November 27, 2003, 11:38:08 am
I have always found that no matter what country i go to- breakfast is always the meal that varies the most.

When i went to Italy, my exchange partner made herself a cup of tea every morning, poured cornflakes in and drank it that way! They also had the most gorgeous toasted sandwiches, and they laughed at me when i asked for a bowl with my cereal. When i went to America all you guys seemed to eat was bagels, bagels and yet more bagels!

Ooh dear, so the million pound question is-

What do you eat for breakfast?

P.S- if there is already a thread on this, i don't care! Answer anyway!

I usually don't have time for breakfast, lol.

I just kind of grab a donut and a Gatorade on my way out the door if I can.

when i dont have school(weekends) -- i might have microwaveable pancakes or a muffin or uhhhhhh waffles.. or umm nothing(if i wake up too late)

Nothing ever prettty much.
Occasionally on weekends, I'll have a bagel or something..

But on school days, I don't eat till like 4 pm.
I'm so used to it though, I don't even get hungry.

Ooh you all have SUCH weird breakfasts! Breakfast is also the most important meal of the day- so all of you who said 'nothing much' shame on you!!

I usually have toast with marmite, or cinammon toast with orange juice. At weekends i have the legendary fry-up! No life would be complete without it!

Weekdays: Cheerios and Coffee
Saturdays: I usually don't eat breakfast n Saturdays, but when I do, it's bagels and coffee or apple juice - In the summer, orange juice.
Sundays: I eat doughnuts and kuchen (KOO-kuh) and all that good stuff and coffee at my Grandmother's with 1,800,000 other people. Hmmm.

Hmmm maybe. I'm not sure, because they had them in Nantucket too! It was bagels with cream cheese and Jam!

Oooh we busted a well known american myth that Americans call jam 'jelly'- not true my friends, a certain type of jam that is jelly-ish is called jelly!

bagels are a VERY NY thing, but they're all aroud New England too.

Me, i usually don't wake up in time to catch breakfast since i have late classes this semester.  But I eat breakfast foods at lunch or dinner occasionally, and when i'm home or go out to eat.  I love scrambled eggs with cheese, sausage, and tatertots or hashbrowns.  and Coffee.  Lots and lots of Vanilla Coffee.

Vanilla Coffee? VANILLA COFFEE? Why can't people just have a reglar cup of coffee? Why does it have to be all this vanilla coffee, or espresso stuff or . . . whatever?

You know I'm joshn'. ;)

I always thought jam was thicker than jelly. It COULD BE because of the fruit though. It's all jelly, though (like it's all COKE), "jam" just sounds . . . Ugh.

I have been eating cereal for breakfast lately, but I've eaten salmon for breakfast regularly before.  That is the best breakfast.  I should probably start eating salmon for breakfast again.

This morning I had bisquits and gravy becuase I was out of town and went out for breakfast at like 11am with a hangover.

I go through phases *nods*

There was :

Reeses Puffs
Eggo Waffles with Butter and Syrup
Toaster Strudel (Brown Sugar Cinnamon)

Now I vary those with bagel and cream cheese. I love a variety.

Eggo Waffles for me, hold the butter. Or Apple Jacks with soymilk. I can't digest regular milk. :(
