Didn't you wish there was more variety in what the radio or music channels play?
I think they are playing No Doubt's "Its My Life" like crazy.

There is this new radio station here that is playing holiday music 24 hours. There must be 8 kabillion holiday songs! They play the same ones over and over.......waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
I am often a fan of the lesser played songs on a cd anyway. The singles are ususally boring, or should I say mainstream.

Well, I know what you girls mean.
But it's always been like that, the stations only play the songs that people (aka the record companies) ask them to play.
And I agree it's not always a good thing...there are a lot of artists I like that I'd love to hear on the radio.
Who wants to start a new record company with me? haha 8)

there is a station here that also plays christmas music 24/7 - during the holidays - however - last year i called them and asked them to play greensleeves and some other good ones like the god rest ye merry gentlemen with sarah m and BNL and they said they would and never did...bastards!!!

joann, 102.7!?! are you in nyc? haha we were driving past new york city this past weekend and my mom made me listen to 102.7 (or something... i can't really remember...) until it started getting crackly.
and i agree, not only do they play too many of the same rotation on the radio, but when they show videos in the morning on mtv and vh1... i saw "it's my life" by no doubt three times yesterday morning and only watched for about an hour and a half

I think Kelley is right, well at least I know 102.7 has the 24 hr Christmas deal, and it is the same songs OVER AND OVER! . . . My mom has it on all the time! I wouldn't mind hearing the same Christmas songs over and over, but it's the same versions, same artists singing them. Drives me crazy!

The station my mom listened to plays Christmas music 24/7 baahhhh, and she ALWAYS is listening to it , whether it be on her CD's or that radio station..the day after thanksgiving, the christmas music always kicks in...bah. there are alot of statios here that play the same songs over and over again, too. there's one in particular that has a wider variety of music, but it's really hard to reach the station..you have to turn the radio dial juuuuust right, or you'll never get it.

same thing with "Perfect"-Simple Plan and "Slow"-Kylie Minougue. They're also killing "Hold On"-Good Charlotte, "The Way You Move"- Outkast, and "The Trouble With Love Is"- Kelly Clarkson. But i like those songs still... i liked "Perfect" too, but after 4 months of it, its time for a new single SP!
Kiis fm is notorious for its repetitiveness!!!

Yes I wish there was more variety. And I wish that stations would play what their market names say thay play. I am tired of pop stations playing rap songs and rap stations playing Urban AC songs and our AC station not playing anything worth hearing :roll:.
Another thing about Milwaukee Radio is that the contemporary AC station AND the only Pop station are both owned by Entercom so we have NO chance at all of getting any variety. Plus both stations pick up on songs 2 months later than the rest of the country and proceed to play them even MORE to make up for it.
Example: These are the top 10 most played songs on the "pop" station here. Notice all of these songs have been out for at least 3-4 months (Plays for the past week are first).

The other AC is a 70s, 80s, 90s, current station so you have to sit through a bunch of stuff you don't want to hear to hear one current song. And our "Urban" station is a fraud because it doesn't play much rap music. I want a rap station :(.
*sigh* I am sure you can tell now that I am very disappointed in Milwaukee radio, so I'll shut up now :wink:.

Oh my Jesus! They don't NOT play that here (106.9 earliest Christmas-song-playing-station EVER. I swear they started in August)!!! And they NEVER play Johnny Mathis :( Or Harry Connick (Jr.). :(
You know how, in the mornings, DJs never play anything? Well, this morning, yesterday morning, Saturday morning (the morning of the Entrace, urgh, Exam), and afternoons in between, they've played God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen - And I don't like that version. :(
