last year I was lucky enough to meet faulk. He is so hot.    er umm...very nice man. :D

since I'm from New England I have to gooooooooo with my team....but I do think that since Carolina is going in as the underdog they could win. Who knows. It should be a good game...it's always a good game when your team is playing.

Fair point.  But here's why Carolina WON'T win Super Bowl XXXVIII:

The Patriots aren't a "hype machine".  Name TWO superstars on that team and you'll be our lucky winner.  They play as a team, much as the Panthers do.

The Patriots know what it's like to come into a Super Bowl as an underdog, and they saw first hand what happens when a team gets too cocky as the Rams did two years ago.  They're not going to make the Rams' mistake.

NO ONE, and I mean NO ONE has been able to run on the Patriots this season.  Is Del Homme good enough to win if the Panthers can run the football and he only has to throw 14 times?  Yes.  Is Del Homme good enough to win when he has to throw 25 times?  No.  He's used to being able to just take the incomplete passes, and tee it up another time.  On 3rd and 8--because the Pats have such a good run defense--he's not going to have that option.

Patriots by two touchdowns.

so much Rams dissing. i didn't think they were cocky when they went to the super bowl against the Patriots. although i agree that they can not always play as a team and the leadership is horrible, but i've never thought they were cocky.  :?

I have some suggestions to make the Super Bowl better to watch

1 - add a soundtrack especially during touchdown celebrations, I mean these guys practice their touchdown dances why not put them to music??

2 - too much talking, cut out the chatter guys, stick to the topic - the f o o t b a l l game, sports commentary is like The View for guys

3 - explain some of the fashions, like the commentators, don't you want to know how much that suit costs? do they still wear network blazers? I used to love that Wide World of sports logo on the jacket. And for the players, what kind of shoes are they wearing? and don't even get me started on the underwear......have you seen this Under Armour stuff? God Bless America!

4 - and let's not forget hair styles, jewelry and tatoos. I think they should highlight the players special features when they introduce the line up.

For example, Willie is wearing turf shoes by Adidas, he is paid $80,000 at year to wear them. He prefers corn rows to braids and sports a 2 carat diamond stud in each ear. He has a heart tatoo on his butt that says Kiss My A**, and John 3:16 on his right bicep. If he scores he will be bustin' a move to R Kelly's You Knock Me Out.

Any other ideas?

Associated Press
NEW YORK -- CBS apologized on Sunday for an unexpectedly R-rated end to its Super Bowl halftime show, when singer Justin Timberlake tore off part of Janet Jackson's top, exposing her breast.

"CBS deeply regrets the incident," spokeswoman LeslieAnne Wade said after the network received several calls about the show.

The two singers were performing a flirtatious duet to end the halftime show, and at the song's finish, Timberlake reached across Jackson's leather gladiator outfit and pulled off the covering to her right breast.

The network quickly cut away from the shot, and did not mention the incident on the air.

Timberlake said he did not intend to expose Jackson's breast.

"I am sorry that anyone was offended by the wardrobe malfunction during the halftime performance of the Super Bowl," Timberlake said in a statement. "It was not intentional and is regrettable."

Wade said CBS officials attended rehearsals of the halftime show all week, "and there was no indication any such thing would happen. The moment did not conform to CBS' broadcast standards and we would like to apologize to anyone who was offended."

The Super Bowl halftime show, which also featured Puff Daddy, Nelly and Kid Rock, was produced by MTV, CBS' corporate cousin in Viacom.

"We were extremely disappointed by elements of the MTV-produced halftime show," Joe Browne, NFL executive vice president, said. "They were totally inconsistent with assurances our office was given about the content of the show.

"It's unlikely that MTV will produce another Super Bowl halftime."

MTV issued a contrite statement in which it also apologized, saying the incident was "unrehearsed, unplanned, completely unintentional and was inconsistent with assurances we had about the content of the performance."

No actually I am far from pissed. I am very happy. We turned around completly from that wicked 1-15 season to go all the way to the super bowl, and they performed as some called it, one of the best super bowl games ever. We came close, and we held the Patriots tight. It was a great game, and I mentioned no names, it's just funny how some people are suddenly interested AFTER someone wins.

Well ... Tom Brady, Antwoin Smith, Kevin Faulk, Troy Brown, Adam Vinatieri, Ty law ... oops ... I guess I named more than two superstars (and yes, I did know who they were before the game started). Does that mean I don't win?

I wouldn't call 92 yards on 16 carries as not being able to run the ball either, not to mention the touchdown.

Jake Delhomme threw for 323 yards and three touchdowns. After completing only one of his first nine passes, he settled in and went 15-24.

By all rights, 29 points should be enough to win a agame -- any game. The Panthers just fell a bit short at the end. The game really could have gone either way.

All boasting aside ... the 14-point prediction was nothing more than a farce. You told no one anything. lol

i thought it was cool how Ricky Proehl tied it up for the Panthers at this superbowl against the Patriots and how two year ago Ricky tied it up for the rams against the Patriots. he's an awesome dude. too bad both those teams lost to the patriots. weird how their kicker won it for both their superbowls. although i thought their kicker sucked most of the game   . i guess he pulled through in the end. i was hoping it would go into over time but i guess not... oh well. interesting game in the second half.

i still say the Rams vs. Patriots super bowl was a better game though

While I predicted Pats by two TDs earlier, I ended up changing my mind a little and making a bet on Thursday to take Carolina +7.  I still thought the Pats would win, but by less than seven.

And only one of the players--Tom Brady--you mentioned were superstars.  A kicker.  You mentioned a kicker as a possible superstar?  I mean, he's great, don't get me wrong... but a kicker as a superstar?!  Please.  And Ty Law is great.  But we all know "superstars" don't play on defense--it's a shame, but true.

omg you guys- my Choir teacher wrote cbs & mtv a letter about the half time show, telling them that there was too much exposure, & that it was inapropriate & stuff.. I don't remember all of what she said she wrote but yeah, haha she so rocks for doing that.

She was like "i'm not watching mtv for awhile" lol

But yeah, everyone was talking about the whole Janet thing at school today, I sware.. everyone knows it was on purpose..

Well yeah..haha, of course it was on purpose.

Lets see, MTV produced the show..Britney and Madonna make out at the VMA's. JT rips Jackson's shirt..Yeah their all about publicity..

HAHA! Jay Leno just said...Wow it was ironic, a Jackson getting molested for once...Then later he said they called it a "Wardrobe Malfunction" and he said, what were both boobs supposed to pop out?

They admitted it was a set-up didn't they? Yuppers, they did. Like that wasn't obvious!

No biggie on the prediction, even Vegas blew the point spread.

Yes ... a kicker can be a superstar, especially one with two winning Super Bowl field goals in the final seconds of each (and, possibly more to come). Here's a good rule of thumb by which most players are considered true superstars: Will they end up in the Hall of Fame? Will Adam Vinatieri end up there? I'd be very surprised if he didn't.

Dick Butkas, Lawrence Taylor, Ronnie Lott, Mean Joe Greene (not really all that mean, from what I hear), and Jack Lambert are all defenseive players who could be labled as superstars. Although the definition of superstar can be a debateable one, Ty Law would have to be considered one as far as active players are concerned.

i think Janet did..I think I heard that on CNN...

Personally, I think Janet and JT should have to pay the fine...not CBS.

well, i think if was Jt and Janet's little idea. Janet posted on her website that she promised something big, and unexpected. or something like that (that's what the news keeps saying) so i think both of them were in on it.

i say they should both pay for it

Janet has been out of the spotlight for ages, wouldn't suprise me if she had a new single out soon?

Haha SHES DOES!  8O  They actually played it friday before the super bowl on our local station...It's called "Just A Little While" and of course it payed off...This week on Top 40 it got 80 ADDS that means 80 stations added it to their playlist and have it in play...Yeah 80 stations added in one week. Do you know that hit songs like "Milkshake" "Hey Ya!" " "Toxic"...Rare does a song get 40 adds, or even show up on the "Most Added" above 30! 80 stations is like almost every single pop station in america added her...And as I said before it was just like Britney Spears..Madonna and Britney make out at the VMA's soon enough "Me Against The Music" was out and flying up the charts. Britney gets married/annuled "Toxic" flys up the chart! I'll find the total number of pop stations in america in a couple of minutes...I really hope VC doesn't drop to that low level of doing shit to get played..

And as for the who should pay, yeah I agree Janet Jackson should. I don't know if it was ment to happen by JT, but I mean what else was he doing grabbing her there?

at the pro bowl one of the guys from Nsync (don't know who sorry) was supposed to do that halftime show, but because of the whole JT Janet thing, they aren't allowing the Nsync guy to perform. i guess because they don't want to take any chances? or they just don't want that kind of music on there anymore....  i don't know. but i thought that was weird

Yeah I heard about that last night but I was half way asleep and didn't hear the story but I did hear that is was JC who couldn't perform. That is just stupid.. what is he going to do? Uncover one of his dancers breast's? Come on now.. he is not that stupid. He's the only Nsync member I actually respect.. damn this thing is getting out of hand..

Did you guys hear about the ER thing? After 10:30 p.m.  on nbc on the show ER there was going to be an exposing of a ladies breast that goes in for an emergancy.. (i'm watching the  Katy Couric sp? interview now) and now they are asking them not to show it cuz they don't wan't to take any chances because of this weeks "events"

The NFL is saying that they want to get back to "traditional," halftime shows. It's not necessarily that JC will do anything inappropriate (but they're not saying he wouldn't). They're replacing his performance with -- get this -- a tribute to hula girls!

I heard about the ER thing and think it's really sad. The storyline invloved an 80-year-old woman battling breast cancer.

Also, a woman has filed a lawsuit agains Janet Jackson for pain and suffering caused by the incident. While I don't recall the specifics, I can only guess that the woman broke her thumb while rewinding and playing it over and over and over and over ... well, you get the idea.

Now, not that you all were waiting for it, but here's my take on what happened and why. Janet Jackson is a liar. She said when Justin tore the sleeve off, viewers were supposed to see a red bra. Funny though, I don't recall seeing any red items hanging down. Plus, who decorates their breast with jewelry or pasties if they're not planning on showing it? Not to mention that she does have a new cd and single coming out. Obviously, it was nothing more than an attempt (kind of a small one at that) to get some exposure for her new release(yes, yes, I know that was bad!).

This is getting really insane.. did ya'll see JC on Access Hollywood? He looked pissed/upset.. he is totally right. They shouldn't punish him just because he is in the band Nsync that Justin is also a part of.. he said he even agreed to do some changes that were going to be made but they just dumped him like that.

You know that wouldn't be happening if this whole Janet/Justin thing didn't happen, but yet they are claiming it has nothing to do with that. Bullshit.

Oh yeah and my Economics teacher even brought the whole Janet/Justin thing up in class today. He even thinks it was just for exposure since she has a new single out and all.. I don't think that tho. See I tend to think the opposite of what everyone else in the world thinks.. that is just me. I mean.. really think about it. She knew that if she planned on doing that that of course it would gain her exposure but it would also gain her a lot of disrespect.. I dunno about ya'll but I would not wan't to risk getting disrespected because I exposed my breast on national t.v. I would think of a better way for exposure like the whole Britney and Madonna thing- I don't think she was thinking of exposing her boob on national t.v. come on now.. why would she wan't to take a risk like that and get disrespected and slapped in the face? it won't help her single- it will ruin it cuz people will still be pissed at her..

Just all my opinion tho..

it's ALL for publicity! bad publicity is still good publicity in the market's minds. People can love it or hate it but that's all it is, publicity. I'm sure Janet has a new album coming out soon and what a way to get peeps talking about her by her showing a boob during a regular televised showing.

I like her music fine but she and JT are full of shitt by saying this wasn't supposed to happen. They will get away with it. They will or may pay a fine but I bet the record sales will cover it after the publicity stunt.

Oh, the sales and marketing.

actually, the women in ER had wooping cough. but they had her on the operating table with her shirt off. all they did was blur the revealing part. but you know, America is sensitive to that stuff being shown on tv right now, so i think they did the right thing by editing it.

and yeah, she did have a red layer underneath the black layer.

yeah, the hula girls were actually for the pre game show, now they're halftime! lol. that's cool i guess. haha

i really liked the Simpson mastercard comercial. and that NFL comercial with all the player singing Tomorrow because they didnt make it to the pro bowl. funny stuff. but the comercials mainly sucked this year

Yeah, I watched ER last night as well. It was whooping cough, not breast cancer, as my radio station's news had originally reported.

She may have had a red border, but there was no red bra (not even a "layer"), as Janet herself had claimed there was.

Does anyone really care about the Pro Bowl? Granted, the hula thing probably will be entertaining. I heard that the NFL offered to have JC sing the National Anthem, but he turned them down. Now he's apparently trying to get the Grammy producers to let him perform there.

I liked the AOL commercials with the guys from American Chopper. Quite funny

Janet Jackson is a stuggling artist at the moment. She hasn't had a hit in several years, and her brother is a freakish disgrace. In the entertainment business, no it's not a matter of good publicity or bad publicity. The only time entertainers worry is when people are not talking about them. Janet doesn't care if people are ridiculing her, as long as people are thinking about her when they enter the record store. That's why she would do it.
