Anyone on a diet?
Has anyone tried any certain diets?
I'm on atkins right now and its not too tough for me to do. Its my 12th day. I hope to stay on it for several months...
-
Diets are bad for ya...
BUT! if you're on Atkins, remeber to exercise, because all you're doing is losing muscle. (or at least that is what we learned in Foods class.)

thanks for the heads up

Speaking of "muscle," my Dad decided to get his stash back out and do crack again, 'cause it's baseball season/softball for me, and he got my weights, and he was all showing me how lift them different ways to work different arm "muscles." It was so weird, he's never done that before. I was like, "Do you want to leave, now?" Then he was showing me how to throw a punch - O_o
But, sorry for that being a bit off topic, Nicole. :X

The Atkins diet is stupid.....
all you eat is like beef and vegis and then you lose the weight twice as fast because your body can break down meat and veggies faster than carbs......but after you lose the weight once you start eating carbs again you gain the weight twice as fast...so you need to stay on that forever... or until your artires clog and you die. That's what happened to Mr. Atkins, no? Nice diet.
I'm on this diet where you eat 6 breads a day....6 meats....all the vegs you want....3 milks.....3 fruits and it's a healthy diet....add with exercise and you should lose 2 pounds a week...
and I heard that the points diet was really terrific too.

Although, I guess it's not really that funny - considering what could happen to Nicole... :?

Really????Yeah..ok he did....but in the diet you can eat a ton of bacon and food and beef and meat and stuff and doesn't that clog arteries? if he didn't have a head injury he would have died from a clogged heart.

Holy christ almighty you are a MORON.
Normally, I have you on ignore so I don't have to read this kind of stupidity and just flat out misinformation.... but this time I wasn't logged in. So I HAD to read your message cause they aren't blocked.
And then I HAD to respond... BECAUSE you are SOOOOO amazing misinformed I really don't want people to think this is even close to being true.
Here's the break down on why the Atkins diet works the way it does.
Your body burns sugar first. Why? Because it is easier to burn and is a faster energy source. Fat burns slowly and is easier to store. The problem with sugars though is that when your body burns them it gets a short term energy boost and then when it runs out of sugars you get tired and yous tart getting cravings for more sugars. So typically you eat more sugars to wake yourself back up.
If you remove sugars from your diet, then your body is forced to burn the fats and protiens instead of the sugars. This means your body maintains a constant energy level instead of a flux AND it means your body consums its own fat and protien sources when it runs out of new sources.
This means muscle and fat. Normally, it's fat first then muscle. So while Joey is correct, his statement is kind of misleading.
The atkins diet itself, however, says VERY CLEARLY that you should NOT maintain an all fat and protien diet long term. In fact, you are specifically instructed to slowly phase a limited amount of sugars and carbs BACK into your diet. You are also instructed to take breaks from the diet every few months.
Therefore, the atkins diet is not JUST a short term diet to lose weight, it is an entire lifestyle change and it something you can maintain your ENTIRE LIFE.
When done properly, there is no evidence that it in any way contributes to heart problems.
Edit: In before "sayyouwould" responds with a stupid "yeah, we'll your a meanie" post.
Edit Edit: FATS ONLY CLOG YOUR ARTERIES IF YOU DONT BURN THEM!
-

I shouldn't have posted it really...Because my foods teacher was just an airhead...or really liked the feeling of being high....she said a lot of incorrect stuff.

Have u read "The South Beach Diet" ?
My dad is doing that and he lost some good amount of weight. And he's a cardiologist specialized in nutritology, so I count his opinion  and he said that except about some things, like the way the Dr.Agnston disss carrots lol, it's a really good option. I read that, and I'm still worried bout the FASE 1 of that diet, it has loooots of restriction, but in a simple way what can I say?, it really makes ur blood healthier :)
But the most recomended is I think the good old 1200 calories a day is the best diet, eat the right amount o food accordin to the food piramid, cut the bad fat ;) put that and some exercices like walking for an hour or at least 30 min everyday and u'll loose regularly weight, not fast, but constantly, and u'll b healthy. ;)

I have a lot of friend's and family friends on atkins, it works well!
I dont have the self dicipline to go on a structured diet... but I am trying to cut back and eat more healthy. So far I've been pretty good! I had to put my weight down for my graduation gown, and I put 10 lbs less than I am, that way I have to loose the weight by June! It's a way to drive me... lol.
-
That's what happened to Mr. Atkins, no? Nice diet.
he slipped on some Ice and fell.
well, the news also said he died obese.
i say if you join a soccer team you'll be fine and can eat whatever you want. lol. works for me

Funny Manda....lol there are girls on the soccer team here that are pretty big...and it's even more funny when they play basketball too...so much exercise and yet still so big.

hmmm south beach diet? I don't know what that one is about!
And Atkins died because he slipped and fell on an icy sidewalk....
I wondered why so many people dog on this diet... and then someone in livejournal made an interesting point that I will include below...
I thoroughly believe...
that the reason that there is such 'bad press' about the Atkins diet, all these tv/news specials about it, and constant slagging of it is: IT's FREE.
Sure, the food choices may be more expensive than the convenience garbage we used to eat, but that money didn't end up in Dr. Atkins' pocket. Yes, some supplements we choose to take can be costly, but you don't *have to* take them.. and again, no more money in Atkins' pocket. Money off his books? Sure.. but you can get the info for free easily enough.
I've noticed that a lot these tv news reports and specials are sponsored by weight watchers and other diet plans/pills etc. As per usual, it's 80% propaganda and 20% 'selected' facts.
People need to think for themselves, do their own research and wise up a bit.
/ rant, sorry.

Anti-diet. I need to gain weight, this will kill me years down the road, but yes.
-
i am the anti diet - because i think diets are f***in stupid - however -- Right now I am on Atkins and I LOVE it! (other than the meat part because prior to atkins i was a pescatarian --- just fish and veggies) but i have lost a good amount of weight and so has ryan - ryan has read like every single thing about atkins... and a member of our extended family is the official medical physician that is the spokesperson for atkins so when you see interviews or anything on the atkins diet - it's normally him - plus my dad is on atkins and he has done well on it too!

Good for you stephie! Stick with it. My brother Christ lost 35 pounds on it in about 3 months before he eased off. ANd he has had no problems keeping it off since.
-
i can never stick to a diet, i have no will power. I do work out though, and i'm *trying* to cut down on the junk food.
-
Both of my bosses are on Southbeach. Its like a toned down version of atkins. you can have some carbs after the first two weeks, and it stresses healthier meats and fats. My bosses are physical therapists and very knowledgeable in physiology so I respect their opinion when they say its a good system. It worked for them.
However, I personally am sick of hearing about how evil carbs are. I looooooooooove carbs! They are my friends.
*eats sugary candy and bread*

*joins toni*
lmao I ate icing right out of the lil container...eep
-
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmicing!!!!!!
I had raw cookie dough for breakfast.....again.
teehee
-
let's give it up for cookie dough, the best diet there ever was :microwave:
-
here here!
-
boo hiss at Toni lol
Today is day 14 of the diet.... my friend asked me today if I was losing weight! Yay! Let the changes begin!
-

Oh I did too! lol :)
I don't eat too many sweets tho... I rarely do! But it's nice everyonce in a while.
My friends think I'm weird cause I usually prefer carrot sticks or other raw veggies over chocolate and candy.

bah! I hate you high metabolism people :)
I used to be like that..... till i finished college and stoped exercising. Now I feel like I barely eat.
I used to go to Subway and eat a footlong with chips and a large soda.
No I get a wrap and an iced tea :(
-
I know i go on about it, but i just actually couldn't believe the size of the portions there- it was just absoloutely mad. Like why would you want that much to eat!?
Anyway, i have weened myself completely off fizzy drinks and junk food (well almost the junk food!)- and now i drink only water, and i feel much better for it. I get really tired and i find that stopping junk food and fizzy drinks has really helped. I also east celery when i want junk food cos it has the same crunch you want from that craaap.
-
well, I used to eat nothing but diet coke and apples.
So I think my body is just thanking me for actually putting something in it now. I still need to fight my new found laziness and work out more.
Sowwy Nicole. Good luck, you can do it!!

I eat the hell out of some carrots and frozen grapes these days. Those are my Junk foods.
And I drink a LOT of iced tea.
-
Frozen Grapes! Yuuuum that does sound nice. I've never had a problem with my weight but i have had some weird food cravings- like cinnamon for ages, then tomatoes, then feta cheese. Its like i'm pregnant! dun dun duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuun.
-
lmao @ Rosie!
-
lmao @ Rosie!
Do you get that kinda thing too tia? I'm wondering if its a kinda thing that comes with M.E. I was addicted to toasted feta cheese sandwiches when i was ill.

boo hiss at Toni lol
.... my friend asked me today if I was losing weight! Yay! Let the changes begin!
WTG Nic! Now you can move on to more veggies!! :D I actually did reading on the diet this time after eating a bowl of cereal with like 38 net carbs in each serving then I started to feel bad about myself and thought...wow...Nicole is doing sooo good...I'm proud. lol
-
the hardest part about atkins for me is the no fruit juice and almost no fruit (other than strawberries) --- i only drank juice before - it's the most painful part -
but crystal light isn't that bad --- the strawberry kiwi is the best - too bad the grocery store i go to stopped carrying it - URGH!
I love the atkins candy - low carb russell stovers - it is so yummy - i think yummier than real candy --- however the rest of the brands taste like garbage....
the ice creams aren't bad - just stay away from "le carb" - yuck...
the atkins muffin mix isnt bad at all - just be aware it has 8 carbs per muffin ... and i am on 20 carbs a day so thats a lot for one little muffin...
i guess thats all i have to say now -
-
aren't the atkins muffins really expensive?
I like the carb counting arnold bread...I think that's better than regular bread...I like peanut butter on it...lol
-
the atkins bagels made me ill --- and i heard that other people have gotten upset stomachs from them too
the muffin mix was a pass down from a friend that went off atkins - i am not sure how much they are - but pretty sure they aren't eight dollars
the atkins brand ice cream bars are yummy the vanilla and fudge ones are my fave -- i also love carb smart strawberry ice cream and carb smart fudge bars .... the bars are better than the cartons because you know the exact amount of the portion you are eating and dont have to measure anything
-

Woot! another carb lover! I live in an italian family, so it's either pasta or chicken with pasta every other night. I can't escape 'em! I don't handle carbs that well though, so i'm trying to work out more.
And i'm with Rosie, no soda for me :-P I've never liked it though. My big problem is not eating the chips...just too hard!
-
Thank you Shell! I plan on stayin on Induction for longer than 2 weeks because that is when you lose more weight and these past 2 weeks have been fine. I wonder how long I can go without eating any of the major carbs like bread, rice or pasta? Any bets? lol
-
Nicole, you're doing a great job! That's so awesome! Good luck on it!
lol, you've inspired me to cut down on my carbs too!

Be careful, 'nicole'. The induction period is what it is, and is the length it is, for a reason. it isn't healthy long term.
Not saying extending it is gonna be bad for you... just saying be careful.
-
I know Andrew... but I have made several atkins buddies and they have stayed on Induction for quite some time. I've been doing my homeowrk on this and I am about to do a lot more once my books come in.
-
I just tried some of the atkins ice cream (my dad got it to try to be healthy). It's alright...

I heard its realllly good. I tried their chocolate bars ... but I found out im not supposed to have em during induction so I won't be having more. oh well :)

I'm disturbed by the fact that someone (I forgot who) said you're not supposed to eat fruit while on the Atkins diet.
Um o_O Not eat fruit? Fruits and vegetables are the most healthy foods for you....
So yeah...o_O

Eh.... fruit is healthy because of all the good stuff that comes with the sugars (vitamins, iron, etc). But fruit is still a LOT of sugar. That being said, if you are gonna eat sugar, it's the best kind.
People used to say grains and breads were really healthy too.... but they are actually nothing but pure sugar. Yes, fat free and all that. But still pure sugars.
People used to say fat was bad for you, but then we discovered there are like 5 different kinds of fats and some are good and some aren't.
Vegetables, however, are still good for you :)
-
I love fruit! UGH People are obsessed with Atkins! Andrew, did u actually mean frozen grapes? or am i missing something!? I froze some because a)i'm bored and b) they are ill people's food- and they taste so weird!

I just have issues with a diet telling me not to eat fruit. Good thing I'm not buying into the Atkins.
*eats fruit*
-
it was me - i love fruit - some fruit has lots of fiber and is ok - like strawberries and raspberries - however grapes and apples - are too sweet - :(
the russell stovers low carb candy is the all time best - i love the pecan delights and the toffee --- YUM!
-
NO APPLES???!!!!!!!!
I'd definitely die.
props to all of you atkins buffs, I thought I was hardcore with the starvation, but I think that might have been easier. lol
-
toni: starvation is much harder!
-
So after hearing about the Russel Stover Low Carb Chocolates.. I went and tried them out. I had the Truffles... they were good... but I did like the atkins chocolate better. And I ordered some keto sticks to see if I am in ketosis which I should be by now. But I think it would help me figure out what foods gives me the best results! :)
18 days down 2389758947554 to go! yay!
-
tell me what you think of the ketone strips --- silly, i am asking how you like a stick you pee on...LOL
yeh so anyway ryan and i haven't bought ketone strips but wanted to and just put it off - so let me know
-

wow - at walmart they were $12 for 50
-

yep! I hope I get them soon! I can not wait to test them heeh!
-
nope but steer clear of the atkins brand bagels - my stomach hurt for 6 days - no joke - first day i had to leave work - hurt so bad
i love the russell stover candies but havent had teh truffles - just the toffees and pecan delights (turtles)
xoxo
-
hmmm well I won't be eating anything but meats & veggies for a while... maybe some low carb chocolate here and there... but the RS chocolate really screwed me up! I was amused though.. I am so odd.
-
i heard when you go back to real carbs - you get wicked yeast infections
however for ryans bday we went off the diest for about 3 days on vaca - and i didn't have a prob - just a warning ---- the atkins crunchers chips arent tasty on their own but use them with cheeses and dips and YUMMY!!!
-
hahah thanks...
btw I am about to post some inspiration in a second...

lol, the girl from Bend It Like Beckham, Parminder Nagra, her character on ER mentioned that about 'Americans and their large portions- everything is "supersized" ' and it's true with like 60% of the populaytion owerweight. -_-
-
lol, i saw that same episode!! the sad thing is, it's frighteningly true. Almost as much as how i just butchered spelling frighteningly :-P anywhose, i usually order half portions of everything, and get a salad. it's healthier, and more enjoyable. Especially for foods i really like, because if i really like something then i want to eat all of it and i usually end up making myself stuffed
-
I am going about to cut out all dairy and yeast for 2 weeks to see if i can stop myself from getting so ill constantly- my aunty recommended it, and what harm can it do? Dairy products are evil, Chinese people are fine without it!
-
Chinese people have weak bones and have a higher risk of osteoperosis.
That's why they are so small.

DAMMIT!

But no heart disease!
-
They say when you go to a restaurant, you can order what you'd like, but that you should immediately ask for a doggie bag and put half of the food in it.
That way you don't eat too much and you have dinner for two nights!
-
I'm going on a diet really soon. This week I'm going to the doctor's, see what recommendations he makes and I'll start. I hope I manage to keep it cos the other times I've been on a diet I never lasted too long, but I'm confident this time, with doctor's control and all that.
-
i deffinatly think the best diet is just food in moderation and reasonably healthy. just use portion control. i dunno if that works for anyone else but it keeps me healthy...
-

nerea! Why do you need to go on a diet!?
And Tricia, genius idea!
-
Rosie, No Dairy = No Bones :-P and women have weaker bones naturally, so cutting out calcium is not a good idea. My mom has the really cool Viactive chews that have your daily serving of calcium, and they come in really good flavors like chocolate and caramel.
With Lent coming up I'm going to give up chocolate, and on days that i don't buy lunch i'm going to start bringing salads. Aaaaand I just bought a Pilates dvd at WalMart. Let the weight loss begin! 8)
-
omg, I just did my pilates video. All i have to say is.........
OW!
-

Rosie, No Dairy = No Bones :-P and women have weaker bones naturally, so cutting out calcium is not a good idea. My mom has the really cool Viactive chews that have your daily serving of calcium, and they come in really good flavors like chocolate and caramel.
Yeah, i take Calcium and Cod Liver Oil pills anyway. And we have orange juice with calcium because i was made to have a glass of milk with my breakfast every day when i was younger- and now i'm a bit sick of it.
-
nicole - i got this from a brand's website about why they use splenda - and thought this migt explain your trouble with the russell stover brand
"You might wonder why we use Splenda® brand sweetener in our products. The answer is simple: we prefer Splenda® because for us, it doesn't produce the "intestinal distress" that is common with many products made with sugar-alcohols!"
lol - nevermind i just read my pack of toffe i have on me and they use splenda --- opps
-
congrats! that is awesome! I did not weigh myself until 2 weeks into the diet and I have no weighed myseld since... I've been on it for 22 days :)

Good point, I think
I couldn't be on a diet, I think
I don't have the discipline
So, any ideas on how to gain weight, instead of losing it? lol
(and don't say "eat more", bc I eat a lot, and still I gain nothing)

egh, well i don't blame you for not liking milk then! As long as you take the calcium pills, you should be okay. though i'm not a doctor, so don't hold me to it :-P

Stephie, This is not a "disagree" vs "agree" thing because this is not my opinion. This is something addiction specialists will tell you. I am not a diet expert so I have no actual opinion of my own on this. I just have regurgitated info I have read over the years.
That said, this notion of using something that is off your diet as a "reward" has been pretty well decried as bad for YEARS. For example, if an alcoholic goes 6 months without a drink, does he or she reward themselves with a beer? When your toilet train your dog do you reward him by letting him pee in the bedroom? Why do these come across as "duh" but people think it is ok to reward themselves on their diets by eating outside of the diet? This is counterproductive.
Using food as a reward is listed on almost every website you find as a sign of an eating disorder.
As soon as you start rewarding yourself with foods you know you aren't supposed to be eating then you are also demonstrating that you are on a temporary diet and not an actual lifestyle change. This is bad because it strongly suggests that you will just go back to eating poorly as soon as you hit your target weight.
Rewards are ok. But the reward should never be counterproductive to the goal. That is motivation theory 101.
-
yes, you have to have a lifestyle change!....
or so the blonde shaved haird lady says....
goes to go eat a piece of cake, and to die a lonely fat death...WHAT? I will be fat if I don't have a lifestyle change either! 8O

I think that out of everything I've tried (and I have tried just about EVERYTHING) WeightWatchers is the best. My mom joined when it was still free and the points system was just starting out. The best part is, you can eat whatever you want! Just budget what you eat so you don't go over your points. Like, if you want a Grilled cheese sandwich and chocolate cake, you can have it, it just cost you 20 points though. So, if you are allowed 24 points a day, you only have 4 points left ot eat foods worth 0 points (like veggies and salad). It's easy, if you can add, you can do it. Mostly, it's common sense and eating in moderation, only tailored into a better system for people like me. It really does work.

Truth. But most people who NEED to diet can't limit themselves like that. If they could, they wouldn't need to diet. And there is the flaw in the entire system.
-
I'd have to say that I agree with Andrew on the whole reward system. I have not cheated so far and I don't want to because I know that I might end up feeling bad and eat my whole kitchen OR I will realize what I'm missing out on and again eat my whole kitchen. If I want to reward myself... I'mm going to MAC or maybe even buy smaller clothes once there is that difference!
And if you eat a major carb like that... your body will hold onto it because it knows it might not get more carbs like that for a while and you will gain water weight.
-
first - i still disagree
second - i have lost another pound - so it really doesn't matter!

First - Realize you are disagreeing with hundreds of psychologists and behavior specialists who all know more about psychology than you do.
Second - You would have lost 3+ pounds had you not eaten the bagel. So it does matter.
@ 'nicole' - Right! Smart girl :)
-
Ahhh i am understanding how hard this dieting thing is! I WANT BUTTER! I WANT GOATS CHEESE! I WANT A CHOCOLATE CROISSANT! Its just not nice, and no proper bread either- not fun!
-
Argh tomorrow I have an appointment with the doctor, and I'll hopefully be starting a diet soon, I'm a bit scared though :?

yep, she lost so much weight, and she's been able to keep almost all of it off! The important thing to remember is that you have to excerisce. have to have to. you can diet till the cows come home, but without movement you can still not be fit.
And i have to agree with Steph that just because you 'reward' yourself doesn't necessarily mean that you're starting an eating disorder. My mom rewards herself with doughnuts every once in a while, but does that mean she has an eating disorder? no. i think that it depends on the case and on the person. you know? like, if a person is really obsessing over what they eat and it's all they think about then fine, but if it's someone making healthy, conscious decisions about what they eat, then it's fine to say they're rewarding themselves without assuming that it's the first sign to an eating disorder. just my opinion though
-
weight watchers counting points seems just like what i do - only with carbs --- I can have 20 carbs - so if i eat 18 carbs at lunch by eating "whatever has 18 carbs" - then for dinner i can only have meat and carb free veggies
same deal - i can have whatever i want
popcorn in one cup of pop corn there are 14 carbs - so i can have half a cup and limit the rest of my carbs --- that way i don't crave the things i miss because i can eat them in small portions (except like french fries - that's an obvious no)
xoxo

-
Why thank you Andrew...
-
I just used a keytone strip for the first time today I tested the second highest for amount of ketones! :) And if you test the highest... its bad. SO I got the best result! :)
keytones in your urine = burning fat
-
go nikkee - i mean nicole!
so you like the keytone strips thus far?
and we should get them?
xoxo
-
well.. they make you feel better if you get good results. They are not a must. You already know you are in ketosis for you are loosing weight. But if you want that extra indication... then go for it. If you are interested I'll tell you where I got mine.
-
Steph: How is atkins going?
Someone asked me if I was losing weight :)
yay
-
it's ok - i crave stuff right now... still the same weight... total loss 20lbs
-
yea I crave too at times... I used to have atkins shakes, but they were stalling me so I stopped having them. I think I'm going to get one next week to celebrate my first paycheck :) heeh
-
Lost two pounds! and i haven't even done my pilates dvd yet! i have gym now though, so that could be why :-P
anyways, i've decided to do 10-15 minutes of pilates every morning before school to get me started and give me more energy, and 10-15 every night after school, every day, or as consistantly as i can!
-
i'm starting this new diet today... and it's my first one, so wish me luck! i dont think i'll stick to it, haha, but we'll see!
i forgot what it's called... but it's:
3/16 - 3/19: fruits ('cept banannas)
3/20-3/23: Vegetables + baked potatos
3/24-3/27: Vegetables + fruit ('cept no baked potatos or banannas)
3/28-3/31: ONLY banannas (i'm not a bananna fan, so if i'm irritable on those days... you know why, haha)
4/1-4/4: beef + tomatos
4/5-4/8: only beef
4/9-4/12: only rice (i can pretend i'm on survivor!)
Ehhh... seems bad... But it's REALLY worked for my mom and my grandparents, and Ive got their genes... so it'll probably work for me too! *crosses fingers* :?
-
hmmm... looks easy enough. i don't know if i could live off bananas for 3 days though. good luck Holly!
-
hmmm... easy? lol, i dont know, nothin but fruit and veggies for half a month will be hard for me... and then no fruits of veggies for the 2nd half will be hard too
-
hmmm... true... but what i meant was at least there's no recipies to follow or anything. you know exactly what you can and can't have.
-
yeah... true!
eh... i just tried only eating fruit and it didnt work!! I ate a huge pile of strawberries, blueberries, and mango, thinking that if I ate enough i'd feel full! but nope... now i just feel naucious and hungry, lol. and if i feel this way on the first day... how am i going to feel later?
so i dont think i can do that strict of a diet without feeling sick all the time... but i figure that if I only eat those foods i listed and cut out the carbohydrates, sweets and fats it'd be ok. I'm not looking to loose ALOT of weight, only about 10 pounds.
-

I'm back on a diet
day 7
-
New Years Day I hopped on the scales and was 2.5kg lighter than my twin
brother :o but I still need to get into shape so I've got back on my bike
Unfortunately on Monday I came off and skided along a concrete sidewalk
for almost 5 yards 8O I was doing about 15mph and still had another 45%
of my ride to complete! Perhaps I'll stop at the Baskin Robins next time :D
The customers there seemed to be enjoying their ice cream despite my off
right in front of them  I even used a Baskin Robins sundae spoon to put
my chain back on  I hope to be back in the saddle again this Monday 8)

I was really afraid of the freshman 15 (everyone says that most people gain 15 pounds their first year of college.) so I wanted to be careful. I was 150 when i started college... i wasn't careful at all about what i ate. i was shocked when i came home from xmas break and found i lost 15 pounds. I hadnt weighed myself in a few months. i definitely like the results of it, people have noticed and tell me i look way better. so i decided maybe a diet and working out would be good. I've lost 3 more pounds since i came back! hopefully i can keep that up next semester. I rarely eat fatening food and just eat less in general... i can't stick to a diet with strict rules, so we'll see how this goes.
-
a certain pair of jeans fit again :)
-
congrats Nicole! that always feels nice!
I was able to fit in my highschool freshman winter formal dress recently, that was exciting.
-
I've lost 19kg on my diet ...... so far
-
I really have to start riding more; the off was a set back because I haven't
been back on the bike since then  My knee, hip and shoulder recovered,
so I can endeavour to remove evidence of an indulgent festive season :P

After this effed-up weather goes back to Canada where it belongs (and far northern Canada at that!), I think I'm going to try to convince us to go pick up a pair of bicycles. 8)
-
(http://www.comparestoreprices.co.uk/images/gi/giant-01-atx-850.jpg)
Mine weighs just 26½ lb, but picking up a pair is probably good excercise :P
-
Holly: Yes... back on track although this week has been ROUGH!
-
I think I just got on a food poisoning diet yesterday. Hopefully it will be over soon.
-

Yes, I'm sure it would be. And it would be a good mental exercise to figure out how to get both of them in my Buick. 8)

I gained weight. Sux because I enjoy being a totally active, outdoor person and winter just kills me.
I need to move...
and you can read that to mean I need to live in a place where there is no winter
or I need to find some time to exercise

Australia? Australia = no winter!!
Me = on a calorie diet ..
yeah yeah .. i'm on a diet .. I reallywanted to be skinny for once and for all ...
.. I was 59kg, somehow lost weight went down to 57 .. liked the feeling of feeling thin continued on a calories diet ..
5000 kilojoules .. or sthg like 1200 calories ...
It's all balanced .. as in no one core food type ...
I eat carbs ... in the form of cereal or rice mostly ...
and HEAPS of VEGETABLES!!
breakfast is cereal, and fruit
when I get hungry (if I get hungry .. I just don't seem to get hungry like this) I eat heaps of cucumbers and carrots and tomatoes, which also supplement lunch usually about a handful of some rice type dish
and dinner usually more rice and a bit of meat ... more salads etc
During the day there's some fruit and yogurt ... and heaps of coffee ...
ah and no food after 6.30pm ...
I'm now almost down to 53kg's .. only 3 more to go ... then I'll stop ...
-
I think I just got on a food poisoning diet yesterday. Hopefully it will be over soon.
I have to watch out for that as my parents often forget how long foods have
been left out before being refridgerated, and don't appreciate how short the
shelf life of Chaud Froid really is :? ...550 days w/o a sick day for me so far :D
(http://www.sonymusic.com.au/au/images/myhomepage/myphoto/cadenus.jpg)
-
550 days w/o a sick day for me so far :D
is that all?
-
I'm on a dairy free, meat free healthy diet thang.
I feel a lot better =D
-
I'm halfway there! lost 20kg (44lb)
-
I'm halfway there! lost 20kg (44lb)
thats 3 stone and 2 lbs congrats :D
-
Thanks! It's taken a while....but I'm getting there.
but I think its better to lose it slowly right? coz if you lose it fast it can come back quicker
-
Wow, that's lot! Well done <3
-
550 days w/o a sick day for me so far :D
is that all?
It sounds even better if I say "without resorting to Panadol or Asprin either"

Ive gone off food :?
So basically all i have now is Coke and a sanwich durning the day and dinner at night.
Aww i love cheese so much but last night I left a piece out over night and it all dried up and was lathered with watery fat :x
I am about 50 kg :D
-
Sadly I've gained weight. I can't help it.
Since I got a job at a Dairy Queen/Orange Julius I eat like everything there
I will never stop because I love soft serve ice cream not to mention other things....
but with practice hopefully I'll lose some weight again.
Manders
