You're going to hell.
JUST JOKING!
PS I gave up cursing and Cokes! (soft drinks in general for the mentally retarded ;)) Also, we were supposed to go out of our way to try to change to be a better person (WE - as in our class) and, I quote, "To be more tolerant."
So, you'll have a nonhyper, clean mouthed, tolerant Cece for the next 40 days.
It won't be the same.
-
I miss her already
-
um...ms cece you just said I was going to hell
:D lol
I dont mind going to hell as long as I get sent there with coca cola and steak. :D
I'll be the happiest gal in hades.
Manda
-
I know! Everyone does!
Kind of like my Mom's on crack so she neverrrr lets me miss school (noe more than 6 in 8+ years, not to mention 3 of those I HAD to miss school for Pres) and the couple days I was out for the funeral, I came back and everyone was all, "It was so quiet yesterday and Wednesday."
And I was like, "I know."
And they were like, "Whatever, girrrrrrl."
And then she was all . . .
-
um...ms cece you just said I was going to hell
PS I was refering to the what's-believed-factual place. Did I damn you there?
"Damn" - VERB - to consign everlasting punishment
Oooo . . . I don't plan on doing that with every "curse word" I use, either, gals.
-

we went to 7 am mass as usual. Got my ashes went to school, got mocked at by one kid, made fun of by another, stared at a whole lot (hey, you have dirt on your face), and asked "why do you have dirt on your face?" a few times. I don't mind explaining it though, i mean, it's better that they know than thinking i'm looking like a fool for no reason.
The one kid that made fun of me didn't know it was a religious thing, so i was nice to him. He started yelling behind me "hey, i want a black x like that! what is she trying to do? be goth?!?" so i nicely turned around and explained what it meant, and he nicely shut up :-)
BUT this one girl i didn't even bother with. I don't like her to begin with, but i had to play badmitten against her in gym today. She looked at me and goes "Oh, i forgot it was Ash Wednesday, I was going to put a pentogram on my foorehead." OK, #1. If you're truely Wiccan, then you know that one of your main beliefs is respecting other religions. #2. Saying you're going to put a pentogram on your foorehead just to spite my religion is not following your own religion, and you look like more of a fool than i do.
I just ignored her. Some people, you just can't un-ignorant-ize. ooh i made up a new word :-P
-
hahahah! Nice, I hate people who do that.
where I live there are a lot of people who are catholic/christian and so lots of people go to ash wednesday, it isn't like a 'foreign' thing going on at school or in my city. I see lots of people with the ash cross on their foreheads also.
:)
Manda
-
Crosses are prettier anyway. ;)
-
They sure are Cece.
:) Manda
-
everyone at my school has 'em :D
-
I know.
-
I'll soon be getting mine so I can join you cool people!
Manda
-
LOL! I should have said that to her!
There were about a hand full of people at my school with them on. We have two Catholic Churches in my town, but neither of them are too big. They basically just serve to seperate the Irish from the Italians. Now how Christian is that? :-P
-
You can't eat meat on Ash Wednesday??????
-
we have many churches here...so many!
we have more catholic/christian one's though, so you see lots of people with the oh so holy ash cross!
Manda

Whoa that's alot of churches! My town is uber small, around a population of 9,000.
It's so weird because when the priest for St.Barts (the Italian church, the one i go to) left, the priest from St. Pauls (The Irish one) had to start doing masses at both churches, and everyone got really upset! None of the churches wanted to mix, it was so weird! they still really don't. I don't really see what the big deal is, but hey that's just me :-P I think it's because the people at St. Pauls tend to be more uppity, more high class than us lowely wops  But they do make one mean fish fry 8) oooh i can't wait till friday!!!!
-
I have so many, that I can't even name them.
I know my church though!
American Martyrs!!!!!
:D
Manda
-
I have so many, that I can't even name them.
Me too. I tried but gave up because they were coming out of my head faster then I could get them down.
I live in a Polish community . . .which is kinda odd. Too many blondes.
-
lol, we just have italian and irish. if you're not italian though, you automatically go to St. Pauls. Us italians are purists :-D Juuuust kidding.
-
Blondes you lucky duck!!!
how I want to marry a blonde haired man with blue eyes....*sighs*
Manda
-
We'll say I live in a German/French/Irish-almost town. Okay?
I live in St. Joseph, which is near GERMAN (PARIS-)TOWN. So. Not really fun. You know, brown hair. Sometime red. Blondes aren't too common. Who knows. You know, these days, everyone I know has blue or green or grey eyes.
And mine are brown.
You will never hear me NOT complain about my natural eye colour.
Love,
Vrv;o;s
-
I wasn't lucky enough to get blue/green/hazel eyes!

Mass today delayed math by 15 minutes, so I like Ash Wednesday.
I think that it just takes SO long to have another procession. Moving.... slowly.... Anywho...
-

I dunno what it means
-
I got back from church at 8:30
there was this couple in front of our pew that were all over each other it was so gross, I thinkt he nastiest thing was when the lady rubbed her husband/boyfreind/fiancee's ass! in church people!!!, A holy place...yuck.
but besides that it was the regular, stand up, sit down, kneel, repeat what everyone else says mass.
:D

You go to church!? We just EAT PANCAKES!!! Shrove Tuesday, all the pancakes you can eat!
-
Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday)! That's the whole, New Orleans thing, I think you probably don't know about it 'cause you're in Europe. But Mardi Gras is where everyone acts like retards and do stupid stuff and EAT! (Hence the name, Fat Tuesday) because the next day is the first of Lent. And we're to fast. So we eat. Which I think you ate pancakes on Tuesday.
I could be wrong, however.
-
I dunno what it means
Ash Wednesday is the kick off to Lent. Lent is the period of 40 days when Jesus was in the desert fasting, right before Easter. Good Friday is the last day of Lent, and then on Sunday is Easter. Anyways, on Ash Wednesday you get ashes on your forehead in the sign of the cross, which symbolizes the beginning of Lent. During Lent you can't eat meat on Fridays, or on Ash Wednesday. You're also supposed to give something up for Lent. For example, I'm giving up chocolate. During the period of Lent you can't have whatever you gave up. It doesn't have to be something major, just something that you enjoy. Or, you can start doing something. Like I'm starting volunteering with my Junior Ladies of Charity group, we're sending school supplies over to Afghanistan. It's all supposed to make you a better person, and to get closer to your religion.
-
i didnt get any dirt... er, i mean ashes put on my head. i said that to my mom and she went crazy... she doesnt like the fact that i 'abandoned' the catholic religion.
-
lol
dirt, eh? Nice Emily.
I saw some people with the ashes still on their forheads today. :D
mine rubbed off last night, but when we went out to dinner after I saw a lot of people with it on.

I know about Mardi Gras- but i didn't know about the eating! But yeah pancake day here, thats it. I reckon you just generalised it all to food in general ;)

Well, it was kind of a joke because a few years ago my dad asked some person that had ashes on their head on Ash wednesday if he knew he had dirt on his head o.O
he can be kind of dippy sometimes... like the time he thought that if you got 3 strikes in bowling in my league you'd get a turkey... like a real turkey i mean
