Anyone got any really good ideas for somone who can't taste anything :'(
I'm sick. My throat hurts and If I drink I feel like spitting up, if I eat, well.. I'm avoiding that. I reallllllly want something to drink. But I feel icky when I do, so...

Oprah, Opera, Opra. Whatever. I don't watch the show.... but my friend Jess does. She says Oprah makes her cry :roll:

If you have any all vegan or all organic food stores, go to one of those. They have the best tea and they have just about any flavor you could ask for.
If not, Tazo makes a GREAT green tea and it does wonders for my throat.

We actually have a couple of those stores, but I don't even think i've ever drinked any kind of tea.. but like Lipton. I feel like death, rolled over on top of me twice and it's the size of a bus.

Never had hot tea other than Lipton?!? You poor poor thing. Hot tea is one of the finest things in life. In beverages, it's Bourbon, Guiness then Hot Tea. In that order.
Besides, you live in FL. You have no right to complain about feeling sick. Just go outside in the 80 degree weather and take a nap.

And it IS always warm in FL! My close friend Carlos lives there now. As do about half the people i know on the interweb. And they are always making fun of me cause it's ALWAYS 70-80 degrees there. :(

Honey and Lemon! My mummy made it for me just this morning- you must at least have some honey and lemon around? It really helps for your throat. Also warm Ribena because its syrupy but i don't know if you have that there.
Do you have a cough aswell? Well err even if you don't i will give you my handy hint- put a bowl of hot water on the radiator in the room you're in- and you won't cough as much because the air isn't dry.
Oh also, i've said it once i'll say it 1000 times! Steaming has been proven to shorten and lessen viruses like this- so steaming as many times a day as possible is really good for you.

Dr Rosie thinks you have a temperature as indicated by these 'hot and cold flashes'- make sure you are not tucking yourself up under a duvet and making yourself hot because you feel cold- once your temperature has gone down you won't feel these flashes anymore.
You need a nice little hot water bottle for your stomach! (once you have cooled down).
And last but not least, get some paracetemol down you! If you interchange paracetemol and ibuprofen every 2 hours that will bring your temperature down.

Awww poor Fairy *get well hugs and a whole load of positive vibes* That sounds like a horrible thing! :( Poor thing, hope you're feeling alot better soon, take Dr Rosies advice for a speedy recovery :D

lmao, or she could just buy a humidifyer :wink: :-P (yeah, i biffed the spelling on that one :razz:)
but yeah, like everyone's been saying, loooooots of liquids. For upset stomachs, drink regular coca cola. if you get a hot flash, take a cool bath to help bring your temperature down, or drink some coca cola, then you'd be killing two birds with one stone. ermm.....lots of sleep and.....see a doctor! over the counter medications are not as good as antibiotics.

There's not much I can say that Rosie hasn't - so I'll just stick with "hope you feel better soon!!" :wink:
Not to take the spotlight but Tia feels AWFUL too...she's been in bed for 2 weeks with cramps, M.E., flu and various other aches and pains *sob*

I've been sick ever since the Britney Spears concert last Tuesday, blah
I asked my Choir teacher what I should drink.. I asked her about hot chocolate she said no hot chocolate, drink water or she also said Herbal (sp?) tea.. I had some of that and it seemed to work a lot. And Gatorade!
Oh and Chilli!! that was like the only thing I could eat lol I know weird huh?

lol same here...except i drink NOTHING unless i'm taking medicine. cause usually it makes my throat feel all dry and swollen. and i know that's bad because fluid fluches out all the nasty viruses and such but i don't drink it anyway.
