Post by: jessicaweiser on March 19, 2004, 04:17:48 pm: Check out 18-year-old singer/songwriter/pianist Katie Trotta. Katie and I grew up in the same town and only recently discovered each other. I'm going to be helping her out and I think she has a TON of potential. Her music could be compared to Carlton/Apple/Jones. Check out "The Good Girl."

If you want her album let me know and I'll send you details on getting one and I think it should be available online soon (speaking w/ her about this tomorrow)

I thought that was Glendale, Ohio. That changes things.

You two have to come to Cincy/Northern Kentucky sometime!

I would highly recommend listening to "If I fall" "The good girl" and a song I'm going to beg her to put up called "piece of the sky". Her record is great and it'll be available online soon. I'll let y'all know when it is.

And yes the show is in IN and I'm helping her book shows out of Indy so if you have suggestions please let me know. KY is close enough, so she can easily get there. And last time I played Louisville no one from the VCMB showed :P

Her album has some AMAZING piano work on it and her vocals are great -- she has a deeper voice that reminds me of Fiona Apple and a bit of Norah Jones maybe. Her album is really good and the more I listen the more I like :)

Be sure to drop her an email and let her know of any venues she can play in your area. She's looking to tour, although right now she is primarily in the Midwest.

I shot new promo pics of Katie over the weekend and am doing another shoot with her soon.

An update:
-she's putting a band together and will continue touring
-as soon as the band is ready they are going to record an EP
-she's still touring anywhere, so if you have venue suggestions please PM me and I'll pass them all along to her. her music is pretty coffeehouse/small venue friendly and she's really powerful live.

Katie found a bass player so now she finally has a full band. They will be practicing the next few months, then probably playing some shows around Indy.

I wish I could make it to one of Katie's shows :cry:.
