Title: Turbulence

would you like to fly
my friendly sky sometime?
well, i cant guarantee you
safe passage over rough waters
and rocky mountains
but if you try and reach the other side
what lies behind that choppy air is
something you never thought you'd find there

my landing gear is stuck
and im circling, circling
for somewhere to land
can i land in you?
(oh, can i land in you?)

and the next time i nosedive
and my headwind gives way and
the ground rushes up to meet me
i hope that you'll be waiting there
to greet me with your patient smile
and pick up my scattered pieces
mend my tattered wings when
i've bent and broken down
and send me skyward where i belong
because im finally, finally homeward bound


written on the way home from a Vegas weekend this morning, on two hours of sleep...

and sorry for my absence, life gets in the way sometimes...
