Meet me under the big oak tree tonight
where the cliffs meet the heavens
we'll watch the fireworks and
we'll have a toast to our independence...
and our undying love for each other
do you remember the last time we met here?
It was our freshman year of college
We made love under the fourth of july fireworks
and vowed we'd never leave each other's side
we let the champagne flow over
as good times and memories do
four years later, days go by
and time splits us apart.
we've grown up and grown older
I climb that same cliff, only to see you there
with your beautiful hair flowing in the wind
looking for your guy to sweep you off your feet
ready or not, here I come
