Title: Lacuna Coil
Post by: Blake on July 24, 2004, 11:33:11 pm
The original Evanescence or as many know them as the band ev ripped off of.

They hail from the UK and have had two recent US hits with "Heavens A Lie" and the new "Swamped."

Unlike Evanescence's main member "Amy Lee" Lacuna Coil's lead singer can sing and perform well live, and she looks better, not to mention she's never taken voice lessons. She also doesn't think the world revolves around her or ignore the rest of her band.

I highly recommend that you download or buy both the above mentioned "Heavens A Lie" and "Swamped" because they are so much more evolved than evanescence is, and ever will be.

We chose the name Lacuna Coil because we wanted to have an original name nobody could have, mixing two words from different languages. "Lacuna" is Italian, Latin and means a lack of something, basically of memory or culture. "Coil" means "spiral" in English. The complete meaning of the name is something like "Empty Spiral".

There doesn't need to be a responce unless he likes them. He can't respond to the truth.

Here you go with the continued hate train on Ev  .

I've actually listened to a couple of Lacuna Coil albums. They were alright, but I wasn't feeling them that much. Not a bad band, though.

It is the truth in your own mind, and thus you are attempting to portray it to everyone else as the truth. If it were the truth, you'd have said it in an unbiased manner  .

i hate when people compare bands.....

I love ev and LC. but i wouldn't compare them. to each his own. Lacuna coil is awesome in thier own way. Evanescence in their own way (or in amy's own way now...)

Amy can't sing live?  I went to see her in the UK and believe me she can.  TBH i kinda compare Lucuna Coil to Ev but I dont think about which is better...

IF both Lacuna Coil and Ev were performing at the same time in my city.....i'd probably go for the Lacuna show..Christina , i've heard , is way more appreciative of the band's fans...

I'd go to both! Amy isn't that bad to her fans. She seems rather impersonal with them, which sucks, but she's not mean. She thanks them a lot. Cristina is really nice though.
