Word has it that Pierce Brosnan will not be coming back as 007.
So far we've had, Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, and Brosnan.
Who should replace Brosnan?
The choices above are names that have been thrown into the mix as of late....some of then I don't know why (like Ledger and Bloom...I don't think they have the ability to play a character like Bond...but that's just me)
Jackman is a likely choice...but I think Clive Owen has the overall Bond look......
does anyone find it weird, that I'm a huge film fanatic, and I have failed to see even one of the 20 Bond films? haha

Orlando and Heath are too young and inexperienced to play Bond.

Other: I think they should stop making Bond films and let the Bond legend die gracefully.

Also, the actor who plays Bond must have a certain gayness to them, Brosnon was fine, but Bloom and Ledger are just too gay :?

Can you be more specific? Actaully, I know what you are referring too more or less but it does sound a bit, um, gay, hearing a gay man saying someone is too gay......maybe too flaming...but too gay?

He means like Richard Simmons/Justim Timberlake/Rosie O'Donnell/Michelle Rodriguez type obvious. When it gets to the point where them being placed with a female love intrest, it's obvious they ain't intrested. Sorta like Keira in King Arthur!

Clive is the front runner.
Orlando never will.
Ledger could if he was older, but never will either.
-
I came in this hoping for a choice to be "no one".. But I saw Orlando, and voted that way.
Because, that would be a movie I'd watch.
-
Definitely Jude Law

Honestly, I can't see Jude Law as James Bond....however a new name has popped up....here's the story from IMDB.com
Bana To Become Next Bond?
Australian actor Eric Bana may be set to be the next James Bond - beating Jude Law, Orlando Bloom and Heath Ledger to the part of the British spy. The Hulk star, 35, is still in negotiations with movie bosses to take over the coveted role from Pierce Brosnan in the next installment, which sees 007 on a mission to save the world from a killer virus. A source says, "Eric is the guy they want but he has a reputation for being demanding. They want to modernize Bond and turn him into a youthful, suave and modern hero to compete with the likes of Spider-Man and Keanu Reeves in The Matrix." Bana is married to TV publicist Rebecca Gleeson and they have two children together - Klaus, five, and Sophia, two.
-
i think they should just stop making them...why ruin such a good thing..
-
I am totally pulling for Ewan McGregor. I think he could pull it off. The man has totally earned my respect as an actor, and I think he's got the suaveness to play the man. But no one will ever be better than Pierce Brosnan. That guy was made for the part.
-
I'm going to go with Hugh Jackman, first because he's the only name (k, besides Bloom and McGregor) that I know on there, and second because I think he could do a good job. I agree, I have no idea why Orlando Bloom is on there; he's not at all old enough to play James Bond. On the whole gender inversion subject, I think he might make a good bond girl...
-
Jude Law
he's sexy times a thousand.
-
here's the story from IMDB.com
Bana To Become Next Bond?
I just heard that too.
He is one of my favorite new actors...... but as Bond??? I dont see it.

I can't think of him as a serious actor, kind of like Jim Carrey.
Like in the butterfly effect. :?
But some of his movies are okay.

New report on Eric Bana...from Bana himself...looks like he was never a contender....oh well....
Bana Slams Bond Reports
Hulk star Eric Bana has dismissed reports he has signed a deal to replace Pierce Brosnan as James Bond as "crazy". The 35-year-old Australian actor was at the centre of a media frenzy last week when sources said producer Barbara Broccoli had offered Bana the part. But the Black Hawk Down star says he doesn't even want the coveted role - and has no idea where the story has come from. Bana fumes, "I've said like a million times I wouldn't do it. It's never, ever, ever been something we've had a discussion about. I haven't got a bloody clue where this all started."

hmm interesting. Maybe it will be Clive Owen after all.
Bana is one of my favorite new actors but I dont think Bond fits him.

agreed.....Owen can be Bond, he has the look, and he's a great actor, thought he was amazing in King Arthur.....
however, I think I read somewhere a while back that he wasn't interested either...I could be wrong though....
-
I still think Ms. Mandy should play the role.
-
It would hillarious if they chose Vince Vaughn.

Julian McMahon has been added to the list of many names of who might play Bond next.
From IMDB.com
McMahon for Bond?
Nip/Tuck hunk Julian McMahon is the latest big name to be linked to the role of James Bond. The Australian actor - who was once married to Kylie Minogue's sister Dannii - joins established British stars Orlando Bloom, Jude Law and Clive Owen on the list of contenders for the part. It was previously thought that one of McMahon's countrymen, Hugh Jackman or Eric Bana, would take over from Pierce Brosnan, but both sets of rumours have proved to be false. Insiders are not ruling out the prospect of Brosnan making one final outing as the world's favorite superspy in Bond 21, slated for Autumn 2005 release.

Ewam McGregor is way hot, but then again I never was a fan of the Bond movies...

more Bana news
Bana for Bond After All?
Australian actor Eric Bana has been approached to play James Bond but has yet to decide on whether to accept the coveted role, according to reports. The Hulk star recently slammed speculation he was poised to replace Pierce Brosnan in the legendary franchise, insisting he had never been approached by producer Barbara Broccoli. But an insider tells London's Evening Standard newspaper that Bana is trying to decide whether starring as the world's favorite super-spy will damage his burgeoning film career, or enhance it. A source says, "Eric has been offered the part of James Bond but is currently deciding whether it's something he really wants to sign up to." According to the Bond insider, both British star Clive Owen and Australia's Hugh Jackman are in line for the role should Bana turn it down.
-
Oi vei, this is like hot potato, with the character "Bond" being the potato. Who gives a flying f... fig anyway?
-
I changed my mind, I want Eric Bana, he's cute!!!
I like him better than Clive Owen :)

word.
His name is Craig, Daniel Craig.
The English actor was named as the next James Bond on Friday, ending months of speculation over who would take over from Pierce Brosnan on Her Majesty's secret service.
In typically flamboyant 007 style, the 37-year-old swept up the River Thames on a power launch to a news conference, escorted by Royal Marines boats.
The first blond Bond, wearing a blue suit and red tie, posed for photos in the shadow of Tower Bridge and told reporters: "I'm kind of speechless at the moment."
The casting of one of cinema's most iconic characters closes the successful four-film run of Irishman Brosnan, who was shaken and stirred not to be retained to make "Casino Royale," the 21st Bond film, that starts shooting in January.
The 52-year-old described the decision by the Bond franchise makers to drop him as a "body blow."
"I was looking forward to making it edgier and grittier, and for all of that to go down in one phone call was highly disappointing," he told the San Francisco Chronicle.
Craig was the hot favorite in the runup to Friday's announcement, and his appointment was all but confirmed when his mother let the secret slip to a regional newspaper on Friday.
While little known in the United States, Craig will be more familiar to British audiences after appearing in the gangster caper "Layer Cake."
He also played alongside Paul Newman in "Road to Perdition" and was poet Ted Hughes opposite Gwyneth Paltrow's Sylvia Plath in "Sylvia." But it is the Bond role that could catapult him into superstardom.
Other actors rumored to have been approached to play 007 include Britons Clive Owen and Jude Law, Australia's Hugh Jackman and Croatia's Goran Visnjic.

again...i'm not much of a Bond fan, but I think Craig is a good choice. The dude rocked it in Layer Cake (see it if you haven't...its on DVD now)

does anyone find it weird, that I'm a huge film fanatic, and I have failed to see even one of the 20 Bond films? haha
Yes. I suggest Man With the Golden Gun. Or Goldeneye.
-
Yeah some of these people are too young to play Bond, remember Bond is a not too old, not too young, ladies man, well mannered and handsome....at least to me and I think Owen fits those traits better.
