- it's a very down down strum...
this is my second time typing it - so like it damnit!
It's so nice to have something new to give to my VC guitar peeps again!
xoxo
C
Crashed on the floor when I moved in
This little bungalow with some strange new friends
Am C
Stay up too late, and I'm too thin
We promise each other it's til the end
Am
Now we're spinning empty bottles
It's the five of us
With pretty eyed boys girls die to trust
G
I can't resist the day
No, I can't resist the day
C
Jenny screams out and it's no pose
Am C
'Cause when she dances she goes and goes
Beer through the nose on an inside joke
Am G
I'm so excited, I haven't spoken
Am
And she's so pretty, and she's so sure
Maybe I'm more clever than a girl like her
G
The summer's all in bloom
The summer is ending soon
F C G F
It's alright and it's nice not to be so alone
C G F C G
But I hold on to your secrets in white houses
(same as first verse)
Maybe I'm a little bit over my head
I come undone at the things he said
And he's so funny in his bright red shirt
We were all in love and we all got hurt
I sneak into his car's black leather seat
The smell of gasoline in the summer heat
Boy, we're going way too fast
It's all too sweet to last
(same as last chorus)
It's alright
And I put myself in his hands
But I hold on to your secrets in white houses
Love, or something ignites in my veins
And I pray it never fades in white houses
F C Am G
My first time, hard to explain
F C Am G G7
Rush of blood, oh, and a little bit of pain
F C G F
On a cloudy day, it's more common than you think
F C Am C
He's my first mistake
C
Maybe you were all faster than me
Give each other up so easily
Am
These silly little wounds will never mend
C
I feel so far from where I've been
F C G
So I go, and I will not be back here again
I'm gone as the day is fading on white houses
I lie, put my injuries all in the dust
In my heart is the five of us
In white houses
F C G
And you, maybe you'll remember me
What I gave is yours to keep
In white houses
In white houses
In white houses

Hey!
Thanks Steph!!
Yeah for the most part i'd say that's how i'm playing it,
But what do you think about playing an Am minor chord at the chorus, and not the C?
so it's F, Am, G ...
Also, I tend to barre the C chord ... especially in the verses ... that way you get the high G note ...
C barre (335553)
UNLESS, you can play an ordinary C chord, but put pinky on the 1st string, 3rd fret (G note)
ie C chord (032013) ...
what do you think?
umm yeah :-)
Great song ...

Verses - C Am G (F - Fm)
Chorus - C F Am F G C

Am G C E7
And I won't stop now you know I feel fine
Am G C E7
Just looking for some affection
Chorus
Am G F G
And all I ask
Am G F G
is to be able to hold on longer
Am G F G
And all I ask
Am G F
is to be able to walk on water
F
Walk on water
Am C G E7 2x
Am G C E7
I figure it won't be long it won't be hard
Am G C E7
I just gotta get my feet back on the ground
Am G C E7
Just got a hold of some unlucky cards
Am G C E7
And I have yet to make another round
Chorus
Am E7 C G 2x
Am G C E7 2x
Am G C E7
No one lent a hand, no one laid a look upon me
Am G C E7
Invisible to everything but blame

No one cared to tell, no one dared to believe in anything
Am G C E7
And left me to drown in this place
Chorus

but here is my chord progression for this song i finger pick it slow through the whole thing
F C Am G

for the bridge play with the rhythm for each of these notes ascending from A - B - C# - D.
