Certainly you've heard their song "Screaming Infidelities" ?? That has received quite a bit of airplay.

i was obsessed with dc two summers ago
and sorta stopped listening ever since then
ive always loved
so impossible,
the good fight,
a sharp hint of new tears,
and the best deceptions
-
This Brilliant Dance gives makes me feel all funny and stuff. I love it. You don't beat:
So you buried all your lover's clothes.
And burned the letters lover wrote.
ut it doesn't make it any better.
Does it make it any better?
And the plaster dented from your fist,
In the hall where you had your first kiss,
Reminds you that the memories will fade.
I LOVE IT!
-
ive been listenin to them a lot lately... especially cuz of the leak thing on mtv. they rock
-
THE LEAK on MTV (http://www.mtv.com/music/the_leak/dashboard_confessional/a_mark_a_mission/)
Once the CD comes out, each song will be cut down to a 30 sec clip
-
makes sense i suppose... they want ppl to buy it :D
-
dashboard was on letterman last night, they performed "hands down" (i'm telling ya all, this is an amazing song live- i saw them in hartford and they played it as an encore. it was hot stuff). chris has a little kinda mohawk thing going on but it's cute.
the new album comes out the 12th, make sure you pick it up!
and i love "brilliant dance" cece! it's amazing... if i could tell you guys how much this band has changed my life..

"a mark, a mission, a brand, a scar" came out on august 12th, i picked it up yesterday. it was cheap where i bought it and comes with a dvd of studio sessions.. it's SO worth it, i've been listening nonstop since i bought it. amazing lyrics though less of just chris and the acoustic.. but it's hot stuff anyway. pick it up! I <3 it and i think you will too! :-)
also, dashboard was on "last call" with carson daly last night and they performed "hands down". i will try to find a link of the performance for ya all! ;-) that's all kelley has for dashboard today!
much love

dashboard confessional has been one of my favorite bands for a very long time, and they all of a sudden got really famous when they started playing the new version of "hands down" on the radio.. i guess im selfish but im upset that i can't see my favorite band at small general admission venues where its a lot more intimate and its only really big fans.. like last thrusday i went to their first show here after the new album came out and they played at the universal amphitheater.. a huge place compared to the 500 people venues he would play at before.. and i was surrouened by people who knew nothing about their previous music and barely any of the new stuff either..all they did was stand there and scream things like "f*ck me chris!!" and throwing their bra up at the poor guy..
i guess its comparable to if no one heard anything about vanessa for the first 3 years she came out and then all of a sudden everyones like IM A NESSAHOLIC OMG HEHE I LIKE LOVE HER! and then you can only see her play at these huge venues where people only go to see cos they like atm.
good for him that hes making more money.. but what sucks is that he used to play at these tiny places and would come out after the show to talk to his fans.. and at his last show there were so many people.. and i had backstage and he didnt even go into the backstage area..
sorry.. as you can tell im still upsetted by all this new found stardom.. =/

If you like Dashboard.. I suggest reading Nothing feels Good by Andy Greenwald..
It's about emo as a genre but mainly focuses on Dashboard.
-
My cousin Rami is a big fan of them....
he made me listen to them, but I just could not really stand the music.
I'm not into that type of music, thats why.
Manda :?
-
He should have stayed with Further seems Forever.
THE MOON IS DOWN.. get that shit.

kelley
ps anyone want me to call them during the show? pm me your number and i'll let you listen along
-
show last night= incredible.
it was just chris and he played a lot of new songs (three new ones), a good amount from "a mark a mission a brand a scar" and some really great old tunes... the highlights for me were "best deceptions" and "brilliant dance" because those two songs were really the two that have changed and defined my life.
straylight run was the opening band, they were amazing as well- i was very impressed with the harmonies they presented, but the girl in the band was too close to the microphone and her words were muddled. other than that, i was very impressed.
great night, great concert!
:-)

yay, glad you had a great time! :D I'd looove to see them live!
-
Oooh did you go to the UCONN show with SLR?
-
*Duh* i went back and read over your post again :-P that's awesome you go to see SLR, i'm very jealous!
-
aww! i wish i would have seen this sooner, i would have liked to hear some songs =(
im glad you got to go though!!
i want to see pics!!
is it true that chris played the piano??
im like a die hard fan and i NEVEr knew that he played.
aww and how was johnny? i love that guy.
-
hey! i never saw that reply, sorry. yes it is true that he played the piano, he said it was his first concert playing the piano alone and that he was nervous.. but it was incredible nonetheless. the new music is absolutely heartbreaking yet wonderful.. i wish i could have recorded it to share but they were reallly realllly strict at uconn about camera, cell phone and recording policies. they checked each cell to see if they had cameras.. it was nuts.
anyway, it was an awesome concert! i wish i could have let you hear them too.. maybe next time? :-)

new song- "vindication" for the spiderman 2 soundtrack.. anyone heard it? i don't know if i like it yet. hmmm.

Our local rock station has been playing Vindicated for about a month, and I've loved it since I first heard it.
A couple weeks ago, the pop station played it on their battle thing, and it won 5 nights to be retired.
My friend Bryan was loving the song too, so I decided to get ahold of the whole latest album even though Vindicated wasn't on it. I downloading the whole album before camp, and we listened to it while we were there. It's awesome! Also while I was there, I saw the video and it was pretty damn cool! Me and Bryan both have copies of the "A mark, A Brand..." CD with Vindicated as a bonus track and listen to it alot! Although sometimes the 'whinny'ness is annoying

:o Dashboard is coming to my college November 16th.
Hello front row, my name is jessica.
i can't wait! and Gina - you have to come!
aaghhh i wish i had joined the Big Events Committee at the beginning of the year so i could mingle with the band and have Chris Carraba's love child....i mean hang out with them in the most appropriate of ways.
aaahhhhh i can't wait i can't wait i can't wait!
-
Dashboard Confessional is and, I think, will always be my favorite band. They're so different and inspiring.
I'd have to say my favorite song by Dashboard is Hands Down. It was Chris Carrabba's first happy song! But I've got some runner-ups:
5. Bend And Not Break
4. Several Ways To Die Trying
3. Swiss Army Romance
2. The Best Deceptions
and
1. Hands Down
I love Chris's original albums. They seem more... personal, open. But, yet, I love A Mark A Mission A Brand A Scar because it's more organized.
Yes, I think Chris is hott. Yes, I think I'm going to marry him. But, the truth is: No, I am not going to marry him. I know most of the stories behind his songs. I know he's had many relationships, and the last time I checked, he's not single.
Anyway, I encourage anyone who doesn't listen to them, to give Dashboard Confessional a try. You feel connected to them, and that was Chris's goal.
I guess he succeeded.
-
sooo the concert was awesome! he played all my favorite songs except for Turpintine Chaser, but This Brilliant Dance was sooooooo awesome that it made up for it!
-
aww i wanted "Turpentine chaser" SO bad at the two shows i went to! that's the most amazing song ever. isn't dashboard incredible live? was it the full band? glad you had a good time!!!
-

it was just Chris, but i thought he was amazing. I was screaming for Turpintine Chaser so loud but he must not have heard me :-P
-
aww <3 chris. any new songs? did he play piano?
i have to go listen to turpentine. i miss it. :-)
-
he played piano for Sorry, So Sorry.
bah i didn't get to meet him. i was more there to hear This Brilliant Dance and the other old songs. i'm not tooo in to his newer ones - they all kinda sound the same to me. But one of my friends was working security, and she doesn't really know DC, and had random conversations with him all day and didn't know it was him until he finally was like "well i'm gonna go play now" :-P
