How bad for me to do, but I think I can go.  I'd have to miss my Wednesday class, which isn't a big deal, and probably some of my Thursday classes too. o.0;

We'll see.  Maybe I can even get my mom to buy me the ticket as a bday prezzie... hahahaha.  Since, yeah, I've got no money myself.
Title: has anyone??

Is it just me being dumb and having a reading deficiency, or is she not on the schedule for that date? (but someone else is...)

People have to be 21 and over to get in to this concert, right, since it's a pub?

Anyway, if anyone have info on when tickets go on sale (I thought tickets for all of Vanessa's shows go on sale this coming Saturday), please post them here. I think tickets won't be very expensive. I checked out one of the Joe Pub artists' shows and tickets cost $18.

well she finally made the schedule, no tics yet

Music Event
Vanessa Carlton

at Joe's Pub
New York,  NY
(212) 539-8770

November 3

Citysearch Editorial Review
 By Kara Zuaro

Heartfelt piano-based pop with the grace of the New York City Ballet.

The Skinny
Vanessa Carlton's artistic grace and refinement have a story behind them. Before her debut single, "A Thousand Miles," hit the radio charts and her video started racking up attention on TRL, the young Pennsylvania native had planned on becoming a professional ballerina. But when the strict regimen of the School of American Ballet in New York became frustrating, she turned to songwriting for solace. The graceful compositions she came up with captured the soul-searching of a young woman in transition. On 2002 debut album "Be Not Nobody" (Universal), her sweet voice and gentle approach to her instrument combine with grand orchestral build-ups and catchy choruses. Carlton is a breath of fresh air in the sexy, sweaty, dance-crazed kinder-jungle of MTV.

The Crowd
A mixed group with a shared passion for Alicia Keys' lush piano parts, Fiona Apple's introspective lyrics and the pop sensibility of Michele Branch.

On the bright side ..it must means shes doing pretty well b/c two years ago I was able to get a ticket to her NY concert at the box office the same day.

Post by: nosticker on September 24, 2004, 02:38:12 pm
No tickets have been released yet. They were supposed to go on sale today, but supposedly this has not happened as of yet.
The Telecharge website, although it lists the 6:30 PM show, comes up with nothing when you click on "best available seats". Actually, it's "nothing matches your criteria", which is unclear and confusing.
I called Telecharge, who at first said that the show was sold out, then I was put on hold for several minutes whilst I had a small heart attack, then the guy comes back on again and says what amounts to the first sentence listed above.
A relief.....I think.
I'll be calling back tomorrow.

Thanks for clearing that up. I'm still hesitant to believe the tickets didn't go on sale as scheduled earlier though. If they changed the sale of the tickets, couldn't they do the people a favor by posting a note somewhere in the website?

So far, this whole deal has boggled my mind, why she's not playing Irving Plaza.  And if it is true that a scalper was able to buy up all the tickets, I have no choice but to blame the artist.  No way am I paying a scalper, he can go jump in the lake.
I am sure that VC pays people well to look after these things, and they dropped the ball this time.  My feeling is it will be made up to us, no matter what the reason.

I agree. We need to alert her management to this crap. Anyone have connections with them?

..I encourage everyone to post their dismay on the Official Board too...

why?  you're not going to be able to get an answer on the fly... they'll have to research it and talk to telecharge, etc...

I think what Katia is saying is that she is handling it. Why bombared them when she can get it handled and is already on it. She has been in touch with them in the past and has a great relationship with them representing NESSAholics and Nh.com.

I e-mailed Telecharge about this and I got two e-mails back.

First e-mail:

Dear Telecharge.com® Patron:

Thank you for your inquiry. The capacity for this show was 41 tickets. The show is now sold out.

The second e-mail gives a better explanation:

Thank you for your email.  Vanessa Carlton's concert did indeed sell out shortly after it was put onsale (within about 10-15 minutes).  However, within a minute or two of when it was put on sale, all seats were in the process of being purchased, and were therefore not available for sale.

Joe's Pub does put a limit on how many tickets an individual patron can purchase.  I think in this case the limit was 10 tickets per customer. I'm very sorry you were not able to purchase tickets to this concert.  As you mentioned, it is a small venue, and the concert has proved to be very popular.

Regards,
Jennifer Tattenbaum
E-Commerce Manager, Telecharge.com

Still, that doesn't make me feel any better about not getting tickets. :(

It is! But if you think about it, this is a pub so the capacity is expected to be small.

I can't believe she's playing such a small venue. Vanessa, this is NYC we're talking about!

Unicorn,

 Thanks for posting telecharge's response.

I can't believe the ticket availability was SO small.  Maybe she'll add another NYC show...in a  bigger venue.

I think if we all write to telecharge and complain that they'll put up another show perhaps, cause 41 tickets is BULLSH*T

I'm sure the others were for industry.  I can fit 41 people comfortably at my house. If no other venues are available I'll offer my house (LOL).  I hope that there are alternate dates scheduled....and that she has the time to do them.  I imagine she will be doing lots of press shite whilst in NYC.

we (ME) are *NOT* going to support 200+ people complaining to Vanessa's management.  I know how upset everyone is about this show but GIVE ME A BREAK!  They need to focus on promoting Vanessa and ensuring that she is successful, not fielding a bunch of letters/emails from people pissed off.  If the venue held 600 and it sold out within 15 minutes would you be just as ticked off?  *I* wanted to go to this show as well and Nicole even changed her flight but we need to be patient and hope that they come through for us without getting on anyones nerves.
