These are two cool girls, all their songs are addictive. I'm really loving their cover of "The Smiths - How Soon Is Now". But "30 Minutes" is probably my favorite from the album.

Just because they covered a well known band doesn't make them criminals. They didn't HURT the smiths by doing a cover. Actually, I rather like the cover.

And you know what? The original is JUST as good as it ever was, despite being covered by 2 incredibly hot, half naked, 18 year old russian lesbians.... i need a cold shower.......

They were voted the most influential band of the century in Q and for a duo who i have yet to see perform anything live on any TV or radio station here, i think its a bit much to even attempt to compare them.

P.S i don't suppose Morrissey minds much, he went a bit crazy when Marr left him. hehehe, oh no wait...Marr made him crazy, lol.

Post by: High On Lullabies on April 09, 2003, 03:18:27 pm: I don't think they are particularly talented either. But I can't deny I like both 'All The Things She Said' and 'Not Gonna Get Us', though I don't like whichever one of them does the shrieking of the title line to that song.
For want of another example I like 'Sound Of The Underground' by Girls Aloud, I think the production on that track is excellent. The fact that the 5 girls have little or no talent between them doesn't stop it being a damn good pop song. Because whoever produced certainly does have talent.

Back to t.A.T.u though, I agree with Rosie in that whether they are lesbian or not, they shouldn't use it to sell their records.

The video for it is really intense... I don't think it would ever pass US censors.. so US folks you'll have to find the Russian version. but it's definitely worth watching...

Usually they sing 'live' but the backing track is turned up so loud that you can't even hear them anyway (thank god, otherwise i would've died by now after all of the bloody promo they did here!)
