As most of you know, we're about to celebrate Thanksgiving in America, an observance traditionally traced to a dinner that English immigrants had with a Native American tribe in Massachusetts in 1621 to give thanx about a year after the English Pilgrims landed there.
I want to share our plans for the day and the weekend with all of you and hear what yours are.

No, I'm just very thankful for X. :D
All seriousness aside, we're having an early dinner (about 1:30 or so) at my Granny's house and then we're taking off to Memphis to my cousin's house to hang out all night and play games and stuff. I'm really looking forward to that I-240 traffic when I get there, too! 8)

I'm going to sit in my little tiny room in the barracks here in Washington probably eating microwavable food while all my family back in Oklahoma has a huge dinner and all has fun, what a life

Play Final Fantasy XI and compose my Christmas List. Maybe I can trim it to 2 pages if I start now...

I have no idea. I just realized I have thanksgiving off no matter what. I've been invited to many things, but not sure what I should do. 8O Sacramento is too far right now to go to a big family dinner. I'll probably show up for that. My family is HUGE on my mother's side. To give you an idea I'd say my grandmother had 11 bothers and sisters, and my mom had 7 bother and sisters. If they all showed up(which they can't because some of them are dead or too far away) that would still be 18 plus my mother and grandmother equals 20 people. There was a reunion one time and more than 200 family members showed up. Then factor in freinds and such. Alot of people. If I became famous I could easily pack a small venue with JUST family. I'll probably just sit at home and eat ground turkey though.......not much of a family person.

Well, my holiday went pretty well according to plan. Thursday afternoon we went to my Granny's house (which isn't the big deal it once was) and had an early dinner, and then after I fiddled with the computer there for a minute and Megan had to watch "Maury", we got in the car, stopped by our house for clothes, and filled up the tank on our way to Memphis.
I had called ahead and told them they could have started eating without us, but they refused to start until we got there. She had a turkey large enuff to feed nearly 20 people, but there were only the five of us there. There was enuff food that we could all stuff ourselves and have drinks afterward.
I spent much of the evening playing with my Inspiron's wireless capability, mooching off a neighbor's Mercury network to achieve a fair connection to the rest of the world. We broke out the Jim Beam Black, Bacardi Superior, and others and Megan, Collin, and I enjoyed ourselves for the rest of the evening playing Clue and Scattergories untill about 3 in the morning, breaking briefly at 1 to make a munchie run to the local WMSC.
We went to bed on the fold-down futon in the office and Friday I woke up with one of the worst hangovers I'd had, but it was easy to get over with three aspirins, a swallow of rum, and some cookies. As usual, we joined Collin (my cousin, by the way) for lunch at Guadalajara Grill before heading home to feed the katzen and change cars and go to work.

I learned a valuable lesson this Thanksgiving, if your legs are hurting a little bit, double up your meds
Accidental overdosage made me forget that I even had extremities which could feel pain, about 3 hours later, when I realized I was awake I found myself playing Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas in my room, it was kind of entertaining, though I don't clearly remember all of it
The basic rule is this, if you don't remember if you took the meds already or not, just assume you did, otherwise you'll be living like Jimi Hendrix for a while!
