Well Nessaholics, the time has come for me to beg for your help again. My boyfriend and I have been doing themed dinners for each other for the past few weeks- partly as a joke, lol. I have decided to do a baseball theme (based on his favourite film The Sandlot, if you know it)- and i need IDEAS! I have no clue about baseball because i'm English so i really really need everyone's help!

ANY ideas you have at all for a baseball themed dinner i would be so grateful for! So far i have thought of having hot dogs and nachos but i need ideas about how to decorate the room and everything!

What are pennants? And we don't have cracker jacks here- but what are they like? I might be able to find sth similar.

Ghis, i'm definitely making a baseball cake! And cupcakes made to look like baseballs, hehe.

um, well you could have everone wear baseball caps (hats with bills on them). and you could get poles, paint them yellow, and put a triangle on the top to represent a foul pole. haha
um... you could pin pictures of baseball gloves around.. otherwise idk...

Get together a bunch of cheesy "rally" kind of music.

Sing "Take me out to the ballgame" while bringing the food in  :lol:.

I dunno... I don't have too many ideas right now, but I'll keep thinking.

well it's probably impossible to get large, drunk, italian-american men from brooklyn shouting obsenitites at eachother.  at least that's what I remembered from Yankee stadium!

I agree with what everyone else said, especially about the pennents, caps, and foam fingers!

Ooh everyone has such good ideas! So far i have

*Hot dogs,nachos and greasy pizza.
*Popcorn
*A baseball pitch shaped cake
*cupcakes made to look like baseballs

*a tablecloth painted with baseballs.
*those pennant thingies all round the walls.
*Big foam hand!

Does anyone have more ideas for decoration? I'd be so grateful!

How could we all forget shelled peanuts!? I <3 shelled peanuts.

Cotton candy.

Those 3 foot licorice ropes.

Those are all hot items at baseball games, too  :wink:

I've cut up and customised a Mets t-shirt i got when i went to a game there- so its off the shoulder and has a matching cuff, hehe. I bought a string of American flags today (i felt SO shameful! lol)and little ones to put into the hot dogs, and a medal! lmao.

It went so well! Thankyou so much for all of your ideas- he was amazed! I also bought him pixi sticks and a twinkie from an american sweet shop in London- he was so pleased!

I have photos to post but no way of cropping or resizing them. Could anybody help me out?
