omg just got back from the concert...

...it was AMAZING!  8O

I got there when the gates opened and as soon as I walked in I started talking to people who work there trying to see if there was a meet and greet. No luck.

I was sitting in my seat when she walked on stage and bowed and started playing. She looked BEAUTIFUL (loved the dress), she sounded great, and her piano playing was excellent <3

My favorite song was Best Behavior (Only You)

My favorite moment was when she started playing a thousand miles, stoped and said "yep thats me", and continued the song

My funniest/most pissed off moment was when some stevie fans in front of me started saying "WHO is that chick?" and someone from the front going "Oh its Michelle Branch" and then me going "excuse me, it's vanessa carlton...no not clarkson...um, no...she's a singer...no carlton...vanessa...ummm...ok..."

She was SO cute. At first people were like why is she wasting our time but as she interacted with the crowd, talking to them explaining songs, making little jokes and making them laugh ("NO I am NOT kissing ass!") everyone started to warm up to her, it was great.

Then Stevie came on and I got up and talked to a million more people (I'm pretty sure I talked to everyone wearing a green, light blue, and yellow tshirt) trying to see if I could meet vanessa. I made a lotta friends, but I couldnt see vanessa at all =(

Then she came back on stage for the Led Zep song and I ran up and got pictures and pretty much freaked out. I freaked out  again when she came out to bow to the crowd. Oooh it was so cute when Stevie held her hand and brought her to the front and they like bowed to us and each other.

And then I talked to a few more yellow t-shirts trying to get a meet and greet or at least a set list. No luck.

Oh and 2 other things that sucked...They didnt check my bag so I could have brought my digi cam...And the only vanessa merchandise they had was her cd. Other than that and not meeting her or nessaholics, it was an amazing concert. =)

and yes, mtv sucks =p

Pavilion and Amp shows are very difficult places to meet the artist or get a setlist.

Sounds like a great show, though  :D. Thanks for the review!

I just got back too! It really was amazing. I'm still ecstatic over the fact that I was within a few yards of Vanessa, in person! :D

Wow. I mean, she looked lovely. She sang beautifully. She played with grace and talent. I think it was the best live performance I've ever seen from her! It's the only one I've ever seen in person, but I've seen a lot of footage from some of her other performances. This one was just perfect.

She started right on time and I believe the songs she played were:
Ordinary Day (and she sang the alternate lyrics! Divide and conquer!)
Who's to say
White Houses
This Time
Put Your Hands on Me
Best Behavior (Only You)
A Thousand Miles
The One

I'm pretty sure that was the order. Not 100% though.

And I had the best seats! I had expected to be sitting way in the back because I could only afford cheap tickets, but my friend got the tickets like a few hours before the show, and they were right in the center, section 102, way up front just behind the orchestra seats. I couldn't have asked for better seats because I wouldn't have wanted to be in the orchestra seats, or further back either. And then I had my binoculars! So I had a spectacular view of Vanessa! I could see every strand of hair and every sparkle on her dress... lol.

And I was so glad when she came back on for the cover of Rock & Roll. I whipped out my binoculars and stared at her swaying and singing. I was sad when she left the stage though. But then she came back at the end and bowed! I was happy.

And Stevie Nicks was really good too. I wasn't familiar with her songs but she really rocked. The songs near the end were the best. But that beauty and the beast one was kind of weird. 0_o But she was really great.

The musicians were extremely talented. The percussionist was unbelievable. Her drummer was amazing. The guitar players were awesome. And her piano player was very talented. I guess the harpsichord guy was good too but I couldn't really distinguish his playing.

The lights were fantastic! They were so cool, but probably bad for anyone with epilepsy. It got pretty extreme sometimes.

I too ran into people who didn't know who Vanessa was. I guess this guy in front of my friend and me saw me singing the words to her songs, and eventually he and the people with him asked us who she was. They were like, "I've never heard of her before," and, "Is she playing her own songs? I thought she was playing someone else's songs."  And that was while she was playing "A Thousand Miles"! After she said "Yes, I'm that girl."!   Of course I set them straight, and promoted her cds. :D I was disappointed that so many of the people there were Stevie fans and pretty much disregarded Vanessa, but I couldn't be too upset with them. They'd probably have a fit if I went in saying, "Who is Stevie Nicks?" "Does she play that oldies music?" lol. Actually my mom thought Stevie was a guy until I told her when we got to the pavilion. I really want to a concert that's all Vanessa's so the fans will all be hyped to see her instead of ignoring her and chatting about.

I looked around, but I couldn't pick out any Nessaholics either. I also desperately wanted to meet Vanessa, but I didn't ask anyone because I didn't see anyone who looked like they had some sort of connections. I instead looked for ways to sneak backstage. (hehe  ) I brought the picture I drew of her (here's a link (http://forums.nessaholics.com/viewtopic.php?p=143286&highlight=#143286) if anyone is interested) and was hoping to get her to sign it, or maybe I'd give it to her. But oh well, I'm sure I'll meet her one day.

All in all it was an amazing concert. It would be so cool if one day my friend and I end up on stage performing. He's a great drummer, and I sing and play the piano (and the sax too). That would be great. :)

okay....so was the 5 1/2 hour drive worth it?   YOU BET YA!

V was great, as was mentioned already, so I won't go into details on her performance.

After her set, Liz, Nicole and I went to a gate near the VIP thing and were talking with this guy who worked there.  We basically begged and pleaded to get a meet n' greet (or basically, jus say Hi), but there wasn't much he could do.  Vanessa was apparently waiting for TWO guests, but we were three, so we couldnt get in that way.  These two women showed up, one being a family friend of V and we told her to tell V that we were there...don't know if she did.  We ended up giving the guy who worked there a note to pass along.  He said it got to Vs security guard, and that's all he knew.  We waited for about an hour, but had to leave due to the loooooooooooooong drive back.

after dropping Nicole off in PA at about 1 or 1:30, Liz and I got back to north jersey at 3:30 this morning...got me about 4 hours of sleep, so you can imagine how GREAT i'm feeling right now....i'm just a tad tired...

Perfectly understandable that  Perhaps Jessica would support the concept of
embellishing her creation with tear shaped gems for any NESSAholic   ballers

i recordered PYHOM, Best Behavior, and ATM all in row.  Then I recorded most of The One, just missed the first lyric or two.  Figured everyone has heard those songs, so no need to upload them.

I did not record This Time.

I wish I had taken pictures, but I didn't have a camera. :(  I was thinking I might draw a picture of the concert but that's not necessarily anything special.

Thanks for the recording of BB BWilli! It's so great to have the full song. Does everyone else hear a clicking noise when it plays? I'm not complaining, I was only wondering if it was just me.

 :D!

Thank you.

I had taken to playing BB with the sound turned down half way in my headphones, and pretty loud through the speakers, because the clicking was only noticable with headphones moreso than my speakers... but now I can play it loud all the time  :D.
