It was beautiful night in Concord, CA. The setlist was pretty much the same
"Ordinary Day"
"Who's To Say"
"White Houses"
"This Time"
"Put Your Hands On Me"
"Best Behavior"
"A Thousand Miles"
"The One"
Vanessa looked lovely and sounded great as always.
During "Ordinary Day" her mic stand started to fall and it had to be fixed
Before "Who's To Say" she said, "Hi, I'm Stevie Nicks." Then she said she just liked to dress like her. And yes, it made me get all teary, yet again.
"White Houses" she did the whole single from "Harmonium," crap job by the record company blah blah and the whole MTV and VH1 censorship because we all know she is a "threat to society in her pink dress." She dedicated it to Stephan Jenkins who was in the audience.
Before "Put Your Hands on me" she said that, "There's really not a good story about this song except for the fact that I made it something that my mother doesn't approve of, which is put your hands on me."
Next she said "I'mma play one more new song. I sometimes find life is more interesting when you behave badly, this is called, "Best Behavior"
She did the "Yes, I am that girl." For ATM.
Before "The One" she said, "Since you know who I am now, I can get away with one more."
I loved when V came out during I have no idea what the name of Stevie's song is. She was so off with the other backup singers but it was fun to watch her dance. She sounded great.
Stevie said some really nice things about Vanessa to include that she hopes that we support her and that she will be standing there when Stevie is gone. She said she adopted her, she's her little chic or something along those lines.

Thanks for the review! :D
I think it is the Led Zep cover "Rock & Roll" Vanessa comes out for... at least that is the one she had been coming out for :?.
-
Probably I remember someone mentioning Led Zepplen.
-
Thabks for the review! It's sweet that she dedicated White Houses to Stephan. I'm glad to see that they're still together.

ok i gotta know if anyone who was there saw the awful man with the flashlight??
-
lol, what did the man with the flashlight do?
-
lol, what did the man with the flashlight do?
he kept flashing his flashlight...everytime he got into a song he would flash his flashlight at the stage and then back and then to the stage again...but everytime he didnt shine it at the stage it would blind me cuz i was riight behind him...it was so annoying....but nobody around me knew who v was...and they were guessing who she was...one chick said she didnt know that stevie played the piano, and i almost died...it was bad..and i had a 4 hour delay in las vegas...and i didnt get to meet up with anyone cuz i fell into a fountain and ruined all my crap and my phone for a few days, i had to take it apart and let it dry...and then i almost didnt even get into the show cuz my ticket was still damp from the fountain and they thought it was fake cuz it was wet....it was just bad v was the best part....Let, did you stay for stevie?
-
Yes I stayed for Stevie. That was rough. It took a long time for me to get used to her voice. Her band was really good.
I must say I was impressed (did I already mention this?) that she went across the entire stage and shook people's hands.
No, I did not see the person with the flashlight.
Glad you got into the show. Sorry we didn't get to meet... next time.

did any of u guys get to talk to vanessa?
-
I did in Reno. 8)
-
ooooh do tell!!
-
There's nothing to tell really. I just wanted to say hi, make sure she knew that some people were actually there for her. I wished her an early happy birthday to which said something like that, oh yeah, that's coming up. I told her it was a great show last night and tonight. She thanked me blah blah.
-
awwww yay good job representin lol :)
-
i wish we had got to talk with her after...that would have been cool...
-
Amazing!!!
That's all I have to say about that. lol
I got to meet Taylor on the BART. We were on the same train. It was weird.
-
Yep! I met you Bianca. You were pretty cool. :) I was pretty tired. At the station I thought you were a nessaholic or fan but was not sure (I've seen your pics here.) Then on the train you came up to me. It was very cool to meet you. I should have given you my number for when you were in town, but I was just thinking about getting home for sleep.

Did anyone get a chance to see the band that opened before Vanessa, Alan Smithee? They are a favorite local band of mine and I wondered what everyone thought of them.
-
Hey JJ! I didn't see them. They weren't there or I totally missed it. Which I guess is possible because I was getting drinks.

Ah man, I really want to find someone who saw them....and I know they were there...at least according to them. :P

I was planning to get there early but we lost our train. I heard them from the outside. I had to run from the outside cus I felt I was gonna miss Vanessa playing. When I sat down, Vanessa came out. I wanted to see them but I didnt get to. :(
-
To jjthefourth--I saw/heard Alan Smithee. They didn't play on the main stage, but on a small wooden stage on the lawn/picnic area as you walk up to the consessions area to the left, after coming through the left entry of the pavillion. They were really good, but I think that only one person was sitting and watching them. If they had been on the main stage, then they would have gotten lots of exposure. But we were quite impressed as we walked by to get to our seats to see Vanessa!

Ahhh, no wonder no one else knew who I was talking about! Thank you so much for letting me know that you saw them! :)
