A little late...I got my license on Tuesday. :) I missed 7 out of 14, but the thing that worried me the most was that I almost crashed a car and I passed! I kept thinking, "oh my god...she's going to tell me to go back to the DMV any minute now..." and it never happened, I passed!
Having your license really does open up a whole new world, and my parents bought me a new '02 Civic Coupe, and its bluuuue!
Its awesome!!! 8)

Having taken the CA drive test recently, you get up to fourteen minor violations. She only got seven. It's not like she got 50% on a test. She only got 50% of the maximum allowable minor errors. Among mine were looking over the wrong shoulder when backing up (wtf... I could see everything!) and not checking my blind spot when going into a left turn lane (umm... who is gonna be there?). It is minor stuff. If you get a single major violation, like disobeying a road sign, you automatically fail.

I got my license in June. Got an 88/100. If you get a 70 or lower you fail.
The stupid thing I did wrong is that the tester guy would have me pull over on the side of the road every once and a while (neighborhood roads) and then say "pull out whenever you are ready". So I'd look over my shoulder and pull out but I forgot to use my blinker (even though no one was coming.. :razz: ). But yeah, that's the only thing I got taken off for. They're really strict about those blinkers..
But anyways.. congrats Manda!

Young drivers certainly take more risks :roll: and whilst Australia awaits uniform
national driver's licence testing in each state, the real issue is early education
so teenagers are much more competent when they take to the wheel for real

Insurance companies don't think Male drivers are more DANGEROUS, simply that we are more likely to be found liable for car damage.
This includes having to pass/dodge stupid/slow driving females on the highways (Because everyone knows women over 30 cannot talk on the phone and drive properly at the same time). Also, when a woman takes a baseball bat to her boyfriends car, guess who's insurance that goes on?
People can say whatever they want about stereotypes, but I know FAR more terrible female drivers than males.
Except in OH, where everyone is terrible.

I took 8 hours of drivers training, not to mention my family members were paid by my parents to take me driving and get me more comfortable and confident. I know I'm a good driver, I was just really nervous on the test. I got the meaniest, nastiest lady at the DMV! And I still passed, but I passed because I only missed 7. I know people who missed 14. I'm really excited to be driving now, and I'm a very good driver minus going over the speed limit. My parents did take my keys away when they saw me speeding in the beginning, I've toned it down, I check my speedometer and take it easy. :D
I love driving, but I know in a few more weeks I'll hate it. But for now, I'll enjoy every minute of it!!!

Ha...you know what's funny boys? Every time I've witnessed a car accident (and I've witnessed quite a few out here in CA), it was caused by a man. Hmmm...

No no no no no. It was LEGALLY the man's fault. I feel VERY confident either
A) A woman was in the passenger seat yelling at him
B) A woman did something stupiid causing him to swerve
C) A woman tried to merge on top of him
D) A woman was driving PAINFULLY slowly in front of him and he had to speed up to get around her

Yesterday I parked in the driveway, and two guys 18 years old were speeding at least 80 down the street, turned and slammed right into my neighbors Red Expidition, bounced back into the curb and then slammed again to the sidewalk on the right.
18 year olds.
