Title: Which song are you most excited about for the third album?
Post by: nosticker on August 24, 2005, 08:34:17 am: I am hoping that Vanessa puts Morning Sting on the new album. It's by far my favorite "recent, but unreleased" song. My second would be "Put Your Hands On Me".

Come to think of it, MS would fit perfectly with the other songs, though it may have been ill-fitting (or difficult to record) for Harmonium.

What do y'all think?

Did you all get to hear all or most of the songs from Harmonium before it came out? Do you think we'll be able to do that for her next album?

Post by: Arwen on August 24, 2005, 06:09:19 pm: There was a "leak" of Harmonium that was on the internet like a month or two before the CD came out. And she performed a lot of the songs live way before Harmonium came out like She Floats, C'est La Vie, Papa, and Afterglow.

My theory about MS is that it was on tap for a B-side(of the singles that were not to be) or that it caused sequencing problems when putting the CD together.

My fear regarding MS is that it's from a different time and as such would be struck down by Linda Perry. Man, what I wouldn't give to hear rough mixes or demos of what these two are putting together for album #3..besides what we already know.

Post by: B on August 25, 2005, 10:10:54 am: I agree about Morning Sting. I'll be interested to see what they do with it. I am also very interested to see how PYHOM turns out as a fully produced song, or if they will leave it mostly piano-vocal since it works so well that way.

Post by: Pyro on August 25, 2005, 04:19:48 pm: Honestly, I don't think she'll put Morning Sting on her next album unless she decides to release one with more than 11 tracks. Since she's kept the number at 11 so far, I think MS would be dropped in favor of a new song if she keeps it that way.

Yeah, me too. Best Behavior is a much more unique title for a song than Only You.

Post by: VanessaPiana on August 27, 2005, 01:24:41 pm: i haven't heard any of the new material for the new album, except for Morning Sting, WYPYHOM, and i don't really know about Ameriteen. the quality was so bad for that song, that i didn't really tune in while listening. i just know of the sheet music for the songs. but i would rather it be a suprise, though.

Morning Sting was supposed to be on Harmonium, so in that sense it is old... but it's not really old. I don't know if it'd be on the next album. I'd love to hear a produced version of Swindler (even though I know how old that song is now).

"Put Your Hands on me," "This Time," "The One," "Best Behavior," and a few others. It's also confirmed that she's written songs with the Matrix.

I love that one also. I havent heard best behavior, i need to hear it, need to find it first.... Does anyone know if some of the new ones will be on the 3rd album, or is it just a guess?
