Have you ever cried or consistently cry to any Vanessa songs? Which ones?
"Annie" - twice
"Afterglow" - once
-
I didn't cried since i was about 12 (5 years ago). But The first listening to Twilight made my eyes become wet and even superhero brought tears to my eyes.
-
Annie. And sometimes Little Mary. And Who's To Say.
-
Hmmm Annie and The One make me cry
-
Annie, Whos to say, best behavior (yeah I know, weird but it's weird she came out with the song, when my boyfriend broke up with me, everything in that song was so true with me)
-
I cried when I heard Annie because it was so emotional.
-
annie and the one...the one still gets me teary but i dont cry anymore
-
-the album version of 'Afterglow', when i first got the album back in January, especially during the bridge, instrumental break [where she vocalizes and the music climaxes], and conclusion.
-the ending of 'Paint It Black', b/c she really showcases her range w/o her sounding pitchy.
-the European version of 'Pretty Baby' that's all echo-ey. the piano and her warm, angelic vocals really capture me.
-'Annie', b/c of the music and powerful lyrics.
-'The Wreckage', b/c of the melancholy piano, and her angelic vocalizing.
-Morning Sting, during the bridge, when she sings all those pretty high notes.
-Ordinary Day, near the end of the bridge, which gave me chills a couple of years ago.
-Superhero; i just wish she's record a more upated version, b/c the piano and vocal arrangement is beautiful.
-
A thousand Miles-countless times
Who's to Say-ditto
Paradise-oh jeesh, a few times
Annie-thrice
Superhero-once, don't know why....
that's all I can recall...
-
afterglow
who's to say
-
the parts where Vanessa plays really loud on the piano on ATM, especially before the bridge. you're a truly great musician if you have that effect on people.
-
White Houses and A thousand miles
-
the one makes me cry everyyyy time when she plays it live.. and even many times when im just listening to it by myself or whatever.. ordinary day cuz i get emotional about all the times i saw her back and in the day (i used to cry every time she played it back then), and whos to say sometimes just cuz itz so beautiful and she sings it so passionately. and if she played pretty baby again i would definitely cry cuz i used to cry when she would play it.. especially on the tour where she did it with the full band.

Yup. That used to do it for me, especially a few years ago, when life was getting REAL heavy.
Also, Annie of course, when she sings "More to life than trying to survive".
The last chorus of OD, where she sings "Take my hand...". Her voice cracks just a little bit, and it's really powerful.

When I saw her live one time I cried during OD because it just brought back so many memories of when I first heard that song years ago and I used to sing it about this guy I had a tremendous crush on. It just brought it all back to me and it was wonderful. And when I heard her play ATM last year at the Birchmere in DC I cried because that's the song that made me become a fan nearly four years ago and it just made me realize what her music has done for me over the years.
All in all, I think that nearly every song of hers has gotten to me in such a way at one point in time to bring tears to my eyes.

the part when Annie reaches the bridge and on to the end. i also love the intro.
on OD when she sings 'Time will not flee...' and when she sings 'duh, huh', and when she sing 'Live while you can...' b/c her voice is kinda raspy.
and ATM has a special meaning to me, b/c it got me interested in piano, and i've been in love ever since.
-
yes... of course =)))
i cried sometimes listening to Twilight..... it is one of my favourite songs. the sequence of verses i like most is "i will never see the sky the same way/ i will learn to say goodbye to yesterday/ i will never cease to fly...." it´s just perfect!!!!!!!!
-
she sounds angelic, doesn't she? she has one of the best-sounding voices out there. has a great tone to it.
-
Well... Since I'm a big crier there are lots of her songs I've cried in:
Annie
Little Mary
Twilight
Rinse
Pretty Baby
Carnival
...Wow, I feel ridiculous...
-
I don't cry from songs. There are a few movies that can always make me cry but not songs. Besides, how stupid would I look bawling at songs being the old man I am? That being said, not many songs give me the chills but Twilight does especially every time I've seen Vanessa sing it live.

Our house by crosby stills nash and young
-
Annie, Who's to say, and The One
-
Annie. It's not really sad until you really understand what the words are about.
-
annie and the first time i heard white houses(at the end of it) and twilight and paint it black
-
Oh, and I've cried in Wanted....
-
her piano in WTSHNN. gets me everytime.
and i love Vanessa's vocals in WANTED. she tore up that piano in that song.
-
i dont really get that emotional with songs
-
i got a little emotional last night when I listened to Van's 'The One'; I've never heard her sing that pretty before. Her piano got to me, too. I've always loved the key of Eb Major.

Afterglow  the girl I had a crush on at work the last 5 weeks graduated as
a teacher and is bound for Dubai in just 19 hours, a mere 6499.05 NM away!

Afterglow got to me when i first bought 'Harmonium'. Especially when the music crescendos, then suddenly softened, and Vanessa vocalizes.
