Does anyone else here think that "The One" and "This Time" sound kind of the same? I think they do, sort of.
-

If something works why mess with it, a lot her songs have the rocking hand thing White houses, thousand miles, ordinary day, papa. Anyway i think that it kinda of cool!!!

? huh?
-
yeah they have the same tune kinda of but they are each their own piece(vanessas pieces) and they have their own meaning and melody
-
definetly its the same kind of writing. i guess she was inspired by the work with linda perry and wrote The One right after the work with Linda. i think thats the reason
-
I don't think the writing is nessessairly the same, I think that the melody and the pattern used in the songs is pretty similar, the first few notes in "The One" are almost exactly the same as Christina Aguilera's "Beautiful" which was written by Linda Perry, so that leads me to wonder if maybe Linda helped influence the melody to "The One" after "This Time" was written. I guess they are pretty similar, which actually make "Put Your Hands on Me" stand out a bit more than the other two....
-
Yeah, when I first heard them, I thought they sounded similar and I don't know why. But now that I know that better, I don't really think they're that similar.
-
Exactly, their similar, but not too similar. :D
-
And also, because PYHOM is so different, i think it makes the other two seem similar
-
Yeah, but then again, I think PYHOM is actually a very distinct Vanessa song, but then again they are all pretty different.
-
I agree they do seem pretty similar when comparing all of Vanessa's songs. However, I don't think it's a bad kind of similar, it's just clearly her style of playing music.
