Title: My band took first place at the Beatlefest!

Mystical Majesty Band wins 2006 Battle of the Bands

Normally, I loathe such obvious displays of ego on parade, but I did want to make this small announcement.
It was a daunting task, as there were several GREAT bands there( 20 in all), hundreds of people in the audience, and nothing coming from my onstage monitor....the drums were on a riser above the stage, and all I heard was my own thrashing! We began with "Live and Let Die", then after making the finals(by the judges), did a crazy "Helter Skelter". After we were declared the winners(by audience reaction), we slowed it down and did a mellow version of "Something".
All in all, not a bad way to spend a Sunday! For those of you who care, I'm working on an mp3 post.
Thanks to everyone who offered kind words.
