Sing Your Favorite Song with the Artist Who Made it Famous
Have you ever dreamt of doing a “Duet” with your favorite artist? Do you think you have what it takes to share the mic with Foxy Brown, play drums with Travis from Blink-182, sing and dance with B2K, or play piano with Vanessa Carlton?

For Foxy Brown, send us a tape of you rapping to your favorite Foxy Brown song.

For Travis and Blink-182, send us a tape of you playing drums along to your favorite Blink-182 song.

For B2K, send us a tape of you dancing and singing to your favorite B2K song.

For Vanessa Carlton, send us a tape of you playing piano, and singing to your favorite Vanessa Carlton song.

After you sing, rap, dance, or play your instrument, be sure to tell us what makes you the biggest fan of Foxy Brown, Travis, B2K, or Vanessa Carlton. If you want to show us all your posters, magazines, pictures, of your favorite artst, GO AHEAD!

This is your chance to show MTV why you belong side by side with your favorite artist!

The contest is over and the only NESSAholic that i know of that came even close to a finalist was Nicole (Ilovehanson) cause she was telling me abotu how the emaield her and stuff so hopefully she'll get it

Are you kidding?  I could sing but...eh.....it's been a long time

playing the piano would be even more of a joke....

the range of my voice is pretty amazing..at least it used to be....and I was only missing three notes in that range...now, well after years of smoking and not taking care of my voice I would never have a chance......

my dream would be to sit down and try to write a song with her..or something to that effect....now that would be amazing....I don't care about the fame of some song becoming famous or whatever....just brainstorming or creating something is too cool....

. For Carlton's duet, Charbonneau used two e 845 microphones to record the vocals of both the artist and her fan. "The fan is a girl from Ukraine who has an amazing story about coming to America," he reveals. "She's an accomplished musician. She reads and writes music, and did very well."
The chosen song was Carlton's breakthrough single, "A Thousand Miles," the video for which received heavy airplay on MTV. "It was recorded in a loft in New York using two grand pianos, side by side, with both of them singing and playing piano," Charbonneau noted. "We took probably five takes of the song. It came out really well. I was very satisfied with the outcome."

I watched them all.  I agree that the last girl (the one who won I guess), was excellent.  But I voted for Matthew.  I think his performance was the most original, probably because he's a guy and it is kind of unexpected to see a guy singing a Nessa song, but he sounded great, and yeah the boy's cute!

MtV Duets is premering Wennesday-5:00EST MTV...check mtv.com for other times...

you can watch the final four's audition tapes on the MTV website...by going to the MTV Duets section...hope this helps?
