Are you a musician? Choose your primary instrument, or list all you play.
Sorry if I have not included your instrument on the list!!
As for me, I play piano, guitar, bass, and drums... and sing!
EDIT: Dammit, the last option was "No, but I'd like to learn someday", but for some reason it's not there... sorry!
I fixed that for you. -Will

Organ rules all.

I play piano, violin, guitar, and I also sing. :D
There's so many instruments that I want to learn but don't have time for.

Trumpet Master and Piano Extraordinaire

Well technically I can only really play clarinet. But I know a small amount of guitar and am gonna be teaching myself this summer... and well I used to sing... still do... but I used to be in choirs until last year. Boo. Miss it.
-
Guitar, piano, clarinet, trombone
-
Trumpet (6 years) and Piano (4 years). I guess you could count Flugelhorn too, but I only play that as needed

With all these musical skills between us, we should be playing an a Vanessa Carlton album!
-
I used to be great at the clarinet. :)
-
Whoops, didn't see the multi option. >__>
Well, I've been playing drums since I was 9, and along the way I learned some piano, trumpet, and guitar. I'd like to get back into piano someday, but right now, I'm just into guitar and drums. ^^
I also think I sound somewhat decent, vocally. Better than Beyonce at any rate. XD And I'm planning on picking up bass guitar as well. :)
-
I've played the piano for seven years, the violin for four (I was first chair in my old orchestra class), the guitar for three, and the bass guitar for two. I also do backup vocals.
-
Violin ( 9 years)
Piano ( Just over a year)

A minute after I made the poll I realized I should have added trumpet as an option. D'oh!

It's only the coolest instrument buuuut... I forgive you

I've played drums for a few decades. I play enough piano, guitar, and bass to get myself in trouble, but I would not call myself a multi-instrumentalist, at least not with people like Stevie Wonder and Prince around.
I do lots of backing vocals with my cover band, but that has more to do with my lead singer being good and my voice kind of blending in, ha ha.

I was something of a jack-of-all when I was in band. I started on tuba, but I also played baritone, euphonium, clarinet, alto clarinet, and bass clarinet. I still own a bass clarinet (which I love to play, when I get the chance) and I have a trombone (which I don't play and is for sale). Other than that, I have played some piano and would really like to get into it, and I wish I had my own drum kit because I know I would kick ass! 8)

i´m a singer, i´m study to one

Is a sampler an instrument? lol

Is a sampler an instrument? lol
If it's controlled by a keyboard then yes....

You're Manda!
Yes, I'm aware of that. I play piano and guitar and bass and violin and that's hott as Paris Hilton would say.

Well really I'm Amanda.. but JazzyManda rolls off the tongue better don't you think?
I wish I played violin...

I wish that you played the violin, too! We have so much in common!!! :D
-
I wish I played violin...
Then don't wish, do it! (If/When you have a violin)
Worth a try!
-
If you listen to one thing, my children dears:
It will kill you, kill you well
If you drink the beers
I like 1812 Overture. It's hot.

was just trying to be encouraging...

I wanted to learn to play piano(that happened after I heard A Thousand Miles), I even made my parents buy me a keyboard, but, so far, I can only play Ode to Joy.
-
It's not the hardest instrument to learn, but I'd hurry up if I were you; everyone says that it's easier to learn an instrument when you're young.

I put together a CD of music played by only Nessa fans a few years ago.
It's intriguing how many VC fans are musicians.
Put me down for drums. I also have a basic knowledge of music theory as well as guitar/bass/piano, but "multi-instrumentalist" is a term, to me, reserved for people like Prince, Stevie Wonder, and Steve Winwood in that they kill on several different instruments.
I don't fit into that category. :)

Prince is wonderful, and so was 3121. For those of you who don't know, he plays guitar (duh), keyboards, drums, bass, and he does sampling and producing and such.

I play piano since I am 6.. I used to play violin.. but i dont anymore
-
I played clarinet for 2 years and timpanis in the school concert band for 6 years but now that ive left college I just play the piano and I've been playing that for 13 years.
-
i play piano but my first instrument was a flute. then i quit because it made me light headed and so i switched to clarinet, and clarinet soudns like a dying duck so i gave up on woodwinds and went over to the piano, and then eventually i bought a guitar but i just know how to play a few chords and some riffs from popular songs.........
when i was little my dad would bring me instruments from all the countries he'd travel to while on buisness trips so i have a little japanese drum, a weird costa rican thing that you blow into that was hand painted, and one that looks like a bird.... umm, a native american carved wooden flute... pan pipes from south america, although my favorite gift wasn't a musical instrument, it was a stuffed koala from australia that i've had since i was 5.
i want to learn cello next!!!!

ooh timpani!! i love that..

I love timpani too, they're sexii. Especially in 1812 Overture.

That's a good one. But I think any song by John William has some pretty sweet timpani action... Theme from the Olympics, Star Wars, etc. He loves that instrument... as well as the french horn.

i just play the piano :D
-
Then you are aptly named :D
-
I have a trombone that I never did learn how to play, and I euphonium I never play anymore. I'm trying to sell both of those right now, actually.
-
What's a euphonium?

What's a euphonium?
It's a smaller form of a baritone

Definitions tend to vary with both of these names sometimes, but the only I have is essentially a small tuba that plays an octave higher than a standard concert tuba, so it plays about the same range as a trombone. In fact, due to a shortage of trombone players when I was in high school, and because I played the best audition for it, I played the first trombone on it in my high school's jazz band my senior year. (Fortunately, there weren't any pieces that called for a lot of slide work in our repertoire.) Oh, and that reminds me, this one includes the lead pipe piece to convert it to a forward-facing, shoulder-resting horn, which is what I used.
-
Thank you for that, then. Does anybody play the harp? I love it, but it seems hard to learn.

wow... it must be easy to read music if you can only play an octave on that instrument...

Oh, ha ha ha. I meant that it has the same range as a (three-valve) tuba, except up an octave. So, where a tuba can play from E an octave below the (bass) staff upward, my euphonium can play from E at the bottom of the (bass) staff upward. (Though, technically I can also play pedal tones from the lower E up to B-flat below the staff. ) but I'm sure you knew that, right?

i play the clarinet and ii've been playing for 5 years and i just started getting good at it :)
-
Yeah I play piano... but I plan on quitting.
