Who blew the save? ... Don't worry, I feel your pain, Luis Vizcaino blew the save for the Brewers yesterday at the home opener :( ... and the umps made a bad call in the bottom of the 9th to basically end the game for the Brewers :?
... but anyhow *comforts* :)

This is different. These are MY Yankees! lol kidding . . .
Heres a quick recap of the break down in the bullpen
Yanks were up by 2 then Hammond relieved Weaver and the Rays tied it (on a sac fly). . .and then Osuna gave up the winning run in the bottom of the 9th (single to right man on 3rd scores)
-
LOL. That is why you don't let Antonio Osuna close. Where is Randy Choate... wait, he's in the minors LOL. Where was Juan Acevedo LOL
-Brian
-
Oh I don't wanna hear you whine!
Maddux gave up 9 in 2 innings today. This is a guy that we're paying close to 20 mil for.

True true. And I guess I can't really blame the Yankee bullpen because that isn't an example "the" Yankee bullpen . . .
*sigh*
oh BUT
Soriano, Mondesi, and Williams all TRIPLED . . .weird!

*points to Jefferey Hammond's paycheck, then to his stats over the last three years* ... Now THAT is 20 million wasted. However, Maddux will rebound... he always does. I hope LOL

Damn the Yankees to hell....
Actually, I hate the Mets much more than the Yankees.
But after 11 straight divisional championships, I think we'll be lucky to reach .500... back to the 'rotten' years...
I've said it before, I'll say it again... AOL/Time Warner will be the death of The Braves.
-
Actually, I hate the Mets much more than the Yankees.
Very good . . . :)
Post was reported, mistakenly we assume. Carry on. -Vmod

Actually, I respect the Yankees cuz they win with class.
The Mets however, don't win, with no class.
-
LOL. Yeah... The Braves are good, but they are getting older and it doesn't seem like they are one of the best in the NL as par-usual, but we will see. At least you've got one of the premire defensive catchers in the game with Blanco, and I'm stuck looking at Keith Osik drop pitch after pitch after pitch, and get passed ball after passed ball after passed ball. Ugh

Heh, heh... think what you think buddy boy.
My roomate's father is the visiting team clubhouse manager in Atlanta, and he was a bat boy for like 5 years. Says Javy is the dumbest mo fo in the world. That's why Maddux won't work with him... hates shaking his catcher off 30 times an inning. From what his father says, Blanco isn't much smarter.
Our main problem this year is the staff. 1-8 in the lineup, I think we're strong. But when Paul Byrd and Mike Hampton went down, I could see us starting off 1-10. Even with those two, I won't see us doing much in the NL this year.
From what I hear, we have some strong arms up in Richmond, VA (AAA). Maybe they'll come up through the system like Maddux, Smoltz, Avery, etc. etc. did.

I'm sorry... think I might have done that. I was trying to press the 'quote' button, and pressed the exlamation mark. I pressed the stop button on my browser, and thought that would stop it. Guess it didn't...
My apologies.

You think I can't see the hidden sarcasm there don't you?! Well I can!
hehehe... okay, I'm rambling again.
-
Yeah. Javy never was a great game-caller, from what I've heard. Everything we heard about Blanco up here is that he was one of the better catchers, not exactly at calling a game, but at blocking pitches, being a threat at throwing runners out, etc. And you know in Milwaukee our good ol' pitching staff lets a lot of runners on LOL.
And yeah, who is in the staff this year anyway? Ortiz, Marquis, Maddux, and who is filling in while Byrd and Hampton are down?
And that is cool, hopefully they won't get injured like all of the Brewer pitching prospects do. Ben Sheets is the only one who has made it unscathed so-far. Kyle Peterson blew his shoulder, J.M. Gold blew his elbow, and Nugebauer is injured too. And the fact that they are sitting here steadily trying to pimp Todd Richie makes me sick, he sucks LOL.

ohhhh
Yankeeography is on!!! (Christine is a bit obsessed)
They're doing the Rocket
*watches in awe*
-
LOL, nice! :)

Let's see, the rotation started off so far:
Maddux
Some guy that I can't think of... Ramirez maybe??
Ortiz
Marquis.
Once again, looks like we'll run a four man rotation, and whenever we don't have an off day (our schedule works with us much of the first month) we'll call a good pitcher up to work a game. Again this year, Marquis doesn't get the respect he deserves. Jason's a great young prospect...
For the record, my staff would have went like this if I was GM:
Millwood
Hampton
Marquis
Byrd
Ortiz (when no off day)
-
Yeah, he is actually pretty good. And I like your rotation, but is Millwood the real deal?
-
Yeah, he is actually pretty good. And I like your rotation, but is Millwood the real deal?
Yes, he is. But what I liked most about him is that we could keep him relatively cheap. He's gradually improving too... I like him, at least.
Much better than the one ERA point for every million we're spending on Greg.
I'm bitter, can you tell???
-
Yes, LOL. But that is okay, bitterness is accepted, and invited in baseball. When you pay 21 million dollars for a guy who is out half of a year for a bruised shoulder, that makes you pretty bitter, or maybe it is just me  .
That is true, Millwood would have actually been reasonably cheap, and not cost just giant cheddar like Maddux does, LOL.
