If someone you met hadn't heard of Vanessa Carlton (not even ATM.... yes, I know how unlikely that is, lol), what one song would you play to them that you think shows Vanessa at her best and why?
(In the poll I've included singles, but of course it could be another song)

atm, because it has a great piano part and beautiful lyrics... everything that a good song needs :P

I'd play "Who's To Say."

I'd play "Who's To Say."

Sway Baby.

White Houses, it's not my favorite but it talks about some of the most important years of her life.

I was rethinking this question, and I have to say I might more often play "Private Radio" for friends than "White Houses." PR just has that edge to it that I've noticed many people can jive with instantly. It'd be that song I'd play to get people to pay some fucking attention when I'm in one of those musical moods. Then I'd play White Houses. So I still think WH best showcases V, but I don't think you can do V justice by showcasing only one song (obviously), she has very contrasting moods and techniques that need to be accounted for. This is just a tough (and good) question... I feel like a politician. p.s. I hate the flu :icky:

I'd say ATM because that was her before she was known to anyone but I'd also play Twilight because that song always gives me the chills.

^ ah, Twilight. She should just have a "best of" album already!
