Title: What is YOUR favorite album?
Post by: sk8thergurl12 on October 20, 2007, 10:01:48 am: Well, now that we have all seen and heard all three albums, my fellow nessholics, I think it's time to choose our favorite album. For the time being, I am in love with Harmonium, the second album. I think all the songs on it are perfect and the flow is just great. It's just a pity that it didn't sell more than it did, though.

Post by: initially_yours on October 20, 2007, 10:28:12 am: I like the sound, feeling, and production of Harmonium. The songs on Heroes and Thieves are really good, but the way some of them have been produced I have doubts about (ie. "Fools Like Me").

I'm going to have to go with Harmonium as well.

i LOVE harmonium but only the first 6 tracks.... the others are only OK for me.

i really really like every single song on H&T.... but some of the songs in the first half of Harmonium are better.

overall, heroes and thieves is my favorite.

yeah, H & T is my favorite by far. Harmonium was classic, but She Floats and The Wreckage scare me, and BNN was so different from ATM that I thought they should have had White Houses as the first single.

Post by: hearingballads on October 20, 2007, 04:51:29 pm: For me it would have been hands DOWN for H&T but the overproduced alternative poppy-ness ruined the amazing songs for me. Especially since the lyrics of H&T is just absolutely brilliantly written. But I prefer Harmonium's classical style with a bit of pop for the background music. So it's a hard decision, but I'd say for production Harmonium. Lyrics and arrangements (vocal decisions) H&T. =( could of been an easier decision.

When I listen to Harmonium I say : that's my favourite album ! and it's the same with Heroes & Thieves. But I have to say, Heroes & Thieves doesn't have this goth touch... I miss it a little. But Harmonium doesn't have the nostalgic touch (except in "San Fran"), the nostalgia I feel in songs like "Spring Street" or "More than this".

I love all the songs on Harmonium but on H&T, there's one song I really dislike (This Time). Just for that fact alone, Harmonium is my favorite album.

Post by: Dora on October 21, 2007, 03:30:00 pm: Heroes & Thieves...harmonium used to be my favorite, but I'm drawn to positive/happy/hopeful music, and HT has that positiveness lol. Plus I think it just sounds more real than her past stuff, its more relatable, if thats a word :D.

Am I the only one who don't like Harmonium?
White Houses is my MOST fav. song ever. I also like Who's To Say and Afterglow but Harmonium is a true "patch of songs" and that's why I don't like it. I don't feel any connections between the songs (still think Private Radio is silly), unlike BNN and H&T.

If BNN doesn't have ATM, Pretty Baby (or even OD), then it will be a truly dark and rock album. Unsung, Rinse, Sway, Prince are a-m-a-z-i-n-g. Although I don't like the last 3 songs as much, they fit the top of the album so well.

H&T... agree with Imaginary Ocean, there is no "goth touch." H&T is so pop and mainstream, and that means H&T is easy to listen to and easy to love! I enjoy all the songs there. I've never listen to any album as much as H&T. It puts me in such a good mood whenever I listen to it.

Harmonium: 2.5/5
BNN: 3.5/5
H&T: 4/5

Although some of the songs that are kind of in between like Twilight, C'est La Vie, Fools Like Me, and Hands On Me really really appeal to me. :)
