just wondering how, who, what happened, etc. etc.
some of you might know from the picture thread, but me & my friends became friends with Dean Cain's/Superman's brother when we saw his band perform in our town earlier this month. we went out to eat with him after we talked for a bit, then a week later hung out with him at another one of his shows & stuff. he's a cool guy. after a while you kind of forget he's Dean's brother..he's so laidback & freaking hilarious lol.
we don't talk about Dean around him though of course unless he brings him up. but sometimes i have to pinch myself haha cuz this like never happens.

Kinda, me and Kerli have talked quite a few times on myspace, shes really cool and nice. :D My dad meets celebs [mostly sports people] at work a lot.

ohh i LOVE "walking on air". the video effects are amazing in that video..& she totally pulls a Criss Angel at the very end with the string going through her arms or whatever lol.
i didn't know she responds to fans, i figured she got too many messages for that since she's getting so big now. very cool :)

Well Monet Monico is like one of my best friends...she added me on Myspace and weve been chatting and emailing for a year...she mailed me autographs and wristbands and stuff! she so freaking cool :lol: :D
Also the girls from Everlife...they are awesome! they reply to all their email and messages on Myspace....Amber is especially awesome...she's helped me through a lot of things....and they were talking with me about setting up a concert in Lebanon...but I didnt work out :(
There are a lot of stars here in Lebanon that either know my father from school days (they were either in the same class or his neighbors :lol: ) or that we've met at some event.
The other day this guy (he was on a show like American Idol here) asked about me and my sister...we met him like 2 years ago...and he was excited that we were twins :lol:

I used to know the singer from smash mouth, him and my dad were friends, my dad actually dated his sister for a while when he was younger. but the guy went to the restaurant my dad is manager/wine semolier [idk how to spell it, but wine expert-y person, its Birk's restaurant in Santa Clara if anyone knows of it] and they talked for a bit. it's cool.
Kerli messaged me again. :) she likes the pictures i make.

is it the same singer that was just in a plane crash (there's two in the band right? he survived btw). that's really cool you knew him. i used to love that band back in the 90's lol. then they were on some reality show, i forget what it was called though.

I'm friends with Phil Bildner, and (kind of) Laurie Halse Anderson. They are both authors. Phil writes mostly childrens books, and Laurie writes young adult books (Speak, Twisted ect. ect.) I've met Phil, had lunch, and that was it.
I don't know if these people count at celebs.

Nah, they are just like anyone else. You can meet people just like them walking down the street. The only reason I became a fan of VC was because I really felt her music.
I can be friends with the janitor or dishwashers just as much as a CEO or rockstar...maybe even more so because they tend to be less jaded in one way or another.
I'm not really freinds with anyone right now.

She was very nice . He was eating at the same restuarant as us in Disney World (FL) over labor day weekend. The restuarant is called Citricos and is in the Grand Floridian resort. He was really nice too. (And shorter in person!!!)

I have a cousin that's in the Senior PGS (lol, old/10) and one that plays baseball for the Twins. Why can't he play something I care about, like football or be a pro wrestler??? :(

I met Crash Parallel (a Canadian born band) and got them to sign my Converse! And after, me and my sister met the singer backstage and we talked for a bit. And at the Simple Plan concert..I was like eight feet away from Pierre! =)
But my couin's friend's cousin hangs out with famous bands like Faber Drive and Hedley.

I'm not trying to defend anyone, or start anything, but this topic is talking about celebrity friends or encounters, so it is bragging about who you meet. i think its cool. i dont know why people are getting upset, thats what the topic is.

A couple of you do seem to be bragging a little bit. You know, listing all the places you've seen or hung out with "Them" like a laundry list, and then saying or acting like you can't say who your famous friends are (like they are really your friends and not just that you got the opportunity to meet them once or twice). If you were really that close of friends with a celebrity you probably wouldn't think you needed to brag about hanging out with them in various places because it's more about the friendship than the glamour of celebrity. At least I would think a celebrity would look more for a real friendship than a doter.
But anyway, I've never met anyone famous. I drive by one of the dude's from Aerosmith's house everyday and see a tour bus now and again but that doesn't really count. lol

I definitely know who is my friend and who is not. I don't live in a fantasy world. Some of the Soap Celebs I have hung out with have been because I have friends who are friends with them.

Interesting topic. I see people getting peeved at people not spilling, but I think that there still is a code of ethics involved when it comes to celebrities. I'm not personally what I would call "friends" with any known people, though there are some that know me on a first name basis.
There's something cool and respectful about NOT talking about it, or risk being looked at as a name-dropping a-hole. It means different things to different people.
I once knew someone who got to know a Hollywood actor. He came to a movie screening, and it was weird to hear him call my friend by name.
If someone won't mention something, it could be simply a respect thing, not trying to keep anything from anyone, or any other "look who I hung out with" BS.

Alot of them are boring and not what you'd expect them too be. It's a very fabricated situation. Soap stars? I've never seen a soap in my life and my cousin was on general hospital.....is it just me or do all soaps look gloomy and weird like you've had too much wine?

couple of years ago Sting and his wife came to sri lanka for holidays. They stayed in the villa that belongs to a close family friend of us. this friend owns a lovely island about 50 metres off-shore, weligama beach, also known as Taprobane Island (google it ^^) other stars like chris martin, gwynet paltrow, summer have also spend some time there....anyway...when sting and his wife were there, they needed someone who speaks sinhala and english...so our friend called me up. i did not believe my ears..hehehe. I spent about a week with them translating and showing them around in the south of the island. It was really cool, and we had alot of fun...one day ex presidents bush snr, and clinton called trudi, and asked if they could meet, because the presidents had also been in sri lanka for some kinda trunami charity story.... pretty funny and exciting. i wasnt allowed to attend that meeting though...security reasons. on the last day trudi wanted my mobile number and she gave me her number and address in england and told me to step by when i visit england some day =) she also said that i'd probably get along pretty well with their kids.
